Evie's POV
He walks up to me slowly, his muddy, hazel eyes locked in on mine. Erik Beck, the school hottie, the school jock, hell, the school's king. Any girl would've loved to be in my shoes right now. Any girl would love to have this sandy-haired idiot walking towards them with a hunger in his eye. Except I'm dreading the impending interaction between me and Erik. We don't exactly get along.
"Evelyn Wilson" he purrs in his charming voice that would make anyone swoon. Well, anyone but me.
"Yes?" I reply, wondering what he wants from me now. He always wants something. That's just the kind of guy he is.
"Would you like to go out with me?" He asks with a smirk, brushing the almost blonde almost curls off of his forehead.
I'm speechless. Erik Beck, the most popular guy in school, the meanest kid to me in the 3rd grade, the one who decided I wasn't worthy of breathing the air he breathed...(yes he actually said that to me) He just asked me out?
"Well? Are you going to say yes, or just leave me hanging?" he says more agressively. That's the Erik I know and hate.
I look around, everyone is looking at us. He has me pinned against the lockers with one hand by my face and the other uncomfortably close to my waist. I can feel his warm breath on my face. My eyes are frantically searching for something to look at other than his eyes. Then I see it, the sharpie on his hand 'Evelyn Wilson 3:30.' I should've known that scumbag wouldn't ask me out.
"I guess you should get comfortable here," I say, ducking out from under his arm and walk out to my car quickly, hoping that no one is following me.
I fumble to get my keys out of my bag. Suddenly, I feel a strong hand grab my arm. Shit! I find my keys and whirl around to see Paul Barrett, one of Erik's 'friends'.
"Erik's never gonna let that go." Paul growls, keeping a tight hold of my arm.
"Paul, let go of me!" I scream, trying to wiggle my arm out of the tall, brunetts grasp.
"Shut up or Erik--"
"What's he gonna do about it?" I snap, cutting him off. I finally pull my arm away from that creep.
"I guess you'll just have to find out," he smirks, "Erik's not one to be stood up if you know what I mean" Paul replies with a chuckle. The way his dark brown eyes seem to glisten with excitement makes me sick.
"I'll take my chances." I say getting into my car.
What on earth does he mean? Paul is known for his very forward behavior. He is somehow the biggest creep who still manages to womanize 71% of the school. I'm afraid of what Paul had in mind, but Erik wouldn't actually do anything crazy, right? Wrong...
Ben's POV:
I hear loud screams not far from where my friends and I were camped out in the back of the parking lot, but they seem to die down fairly quickly, accompanied by a loud bang of a car door.
I actually went into school today. Well, unlike the other guys I hang out with, I usually do. Only one other of my 'friends' does so with me, Oh, yeah, back of the parking lot... weed. I don't use it. I've tried it a few times, but I didn't care for it enough to use it. I hang out with these potheads because, as weird as it sounds, I really like the company. THe way they act after a while lets everyone around them know exactly what they are thinking. I love knowing how people's minds work.
"Ben," my other scholarly friend, Tommi, draws me out of my thoughts. "Did you catch what Erik was up to after school?
"Just another porr girl falling victim to 'Erik's charm' " I laugh in reply. THat's honestly all I caught. I didn't want to be around that chaos at all.
"So, nothing new?" Tommi laughs with the rest of us. It's just nothing new , right?
