Evie's POV

"Ooh, look. Evelyn seems to want to join in on our little fun-time." Paul says. His words and actions filled me with disgust as I watch him rub his hands up and down Cassie's thigh.

"Knock it off Paul. You use her, you buy her." Nathan says, seeming annoyed with Paul's implications.

"It's nice to see you here, though, Evie. You'll definitely help make up for all the other girls we lost tonight." Erik says, smiling at Nathan for his approval. Nathan keeps his eyes trained on me, his face remained annoyed looking.

"I suggest you keep your hands off of the both of them," Tommi announces, stepping out of the shadows in the corner of the room, bearing a small handgun. That's when I remember that I'm holding my knife. Maybe we could actually fight them off.

"Alright, a trade?" Nathan says, a smile spreading across his face.

"A trade?" Tommi asked. I didn't like where this was going.

"You and the idiot aiming at a doorknob out in the hall, for the two girls. Seems fair." Nathan proposes. Wait. Both Tommi and Liam had a gun?

"Fine. Ben, make sure they get back to the truck. Keep them safe." Tommi concludes.

"Ev, Cassandra, let's go." I hear Ben's voice from behind me, standing in the doorway from the hallway into the main room. Ben's voice, though stressed and worried, was the sweetest sound I could possibly hear at this moment. Turning around, I run into his arms. I feel him pick me up and Cassandra follows. We start walking towards the car. Half-way there, he sets me down. "I can't carry you anymore. I'm sorry." He says, sadness leaking into his voice. He sets me down, we all pick up our pace and reach the truck in no time. We all find a way to get in, everyone except for Ben. What is he doing? I start the truck.

"Ben!" I call out, but he runs back up towards the warehouse. He doesn't even look back.

Ben's POV

It was great to finally see Evie again. She was amazing. She helped me out of that hellhole not just tonight, but just having the memory of her to keep me grounded. As much as I would love to stay with her, I knew I would resent myself for not helping my best friend. Tommi was in there because of me, I had to help him. I hear a confused and worried Evie call after me. It broke my heart but I can't turn back. If I looked back at her, I knew I would never be able to keep running away from her.

Reaching the warehouse, I pick up a scrap piece of metal piping and inch my way into the building, unsure of what I'd see.

"YOU'RE A SICK AND TWISTED BRUTE!" I hear Tommi scream. From the angle I was at, I could see a knocked out Liam lying on the floor.

"You're pissing me off. Shut up or I'll do worse to your precious lover." I hear Nathan growl.

"TOUCH HIM AND YOU'RE DEAD!" Tommi's voice shakes in anger. I hear a gun shot ring throughout the large, mainly empty room.

"That's interesting because your chances of being dead soon go up with each drop of blood that leaves your veins." Nathan says cynically. I hear his footsteps coming towards the hallway I was in. I back away from the entryway and press myself against the cold brick wall. I held my breath as Nathan walks straight out the front entrance. I hear a motorcycle rev up and speed off. I cautiously walk in, hoping Nathan was the only one in there. The only two people in the room are Liam and Tommi.

"Oh, my..." I run towards my friend who is lying on his back, blood staining his shirt. I rip off a strip of my shirt and pack it in the wound. I had to, at least, try to stop the bleeding. I call 911 and get an ambulance coming to the warehouse. Being mindful of my phone's battery life, I call my mom and give her a heads up.

"BEN MICHEALS! YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO JUST DISAPPEAR WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION!" She yells while, simultaneously, letting out a long sigh.

"Mom, I will explain later, but now something more important is going on. Tommi got shot, it looks pretty bad. I'm waiting for the ambulance, I'm just giving you a heads up. Liam's going to be a mess when he wakes up." I try to keep the details to a minimum.

"Care to explain why Evelyn just walked in with Cassandra and a group of girls I'm pretty sure are on a missing person list?" She says, sounding a bit annoyed.

"I can't... just take good care of them. Don't let anyone named Nathan, Erik, Paul or Jarrod anywhere near them." I hear the sirens, getting up to meet them at the entrance, I tell my mom, "I gotta go, I'll see you soon."

"Ben, we're not done talking about this-" I hang up running to lead the EMTs to my friend. I find Liam slowly stirring. I call one of them over to help him. We all get piled into the ambulance and as soon as we get to the hospital, Tommi is rushed into surgery, Liam and I are taken into an examination room. 'How long until I can see my beautiful Evelyn?' I wondered as the nurse left me in the room hooked up to an IV.
