Chapter 50

Richelle's pov
We are all just in studio A because everyone has just performed their solos, duets and small group dances. Kate and Phoebe are in their office deciding on what's going to happen.
"You look nervous." Noah says to me.
"I'm terrified!" I say.
"Why? You danced amazingly." He says.
"Thanks but I was up against Miss national soloist." I say.
"I'm pretty sure you got the solo." He says.
"Thanks No, you did amazing as well." I say and give him a peck on the lips.
"How do you think the duet went?" He asks.
"I think it looked great." I say.
"So do I." He says.
Then Kate and Phoebe walk out of the office.
"Ok we have decided on who's doing what." Kate says.
"That's right." Phoebe says.
"Our male soloist is Noah!" Kate says and I hug him.
Everyone claps.
"Our female soloist is Michelle!" Phoebe says.
I clap and feel disappointed that I didn't get it because I worked really hard.
Noah's pov
I can't believe that Richelle didn't get the solo! I look over to her and she looks sad.
"Well if it were up to me, you would have got the solo." I say and put my arm around her.
"Well you win some, you lose some." She says and shrugs.
"Our small group is the girls!" Kate says and we all clap.
"Finally, our duet is Richelle and Noah!" Phoebe says and I hug Richelle whilst everyone else claps.
I'm really happy that I got the duet with Richelle.
"Ok Noah and Richelle please choreograph a different duet for the competition that you have in a few days. The rest of you can practise your international dances. If you aren't doing an international dance then you get the rest of the day off!" Kate says.
"Noah and Richelle you can have studio A to choreograph your duet in." Phoebe says.
Everyone walks out.
"Congrats on the solo." Richelle says.
"Thanks. I just don't see how you didn't get it!" I say.
"Michelle was the best female soloist at nationals so they probably wanted her again." Richelle says.
"It's still not fair." I say.
She shrugs.
"I wander who the two alternates will be." Richelle says.
"Oh yeah. I didn't think about that." I say.
"Oh well, I guess we better do this duet." She says.
"Should we have a storyline?" I ask.
"Yeah! What about good and bad?" She asks.
"I'll be bad and you'll be good. In the end you could bring me onto your side instead of evil!" I say.
"Yeah!" She says excitedly and we start to choreograph it.
About two hours later Kate and Phoebe walk in.
"We would like to see what you came up with." Kate says.
"Ok." I say.
The music starts playing and we start dancing. Phoebe and Kate look impressed.we come to a high lift. I pick Richelle up and spin her around. Kate and Phoebe look worried. I'm not going to drop her. I put Richelle back down safely.
Soon enough we finish and Kate and Phoebe clap.
"That was amazing you guys!" Phoebe says.
"We'll definitely come in the top three with that!" Kate says.
"Thanks." Richelle says.
"Kate?" I ask.
"Yes?" She asks.
"Why didn't Richelle get the solo?" I ask.
"Leave it Noah." Richelle mouths to me.
"Because Michelle was better." Kate says.
Richelle looks at the floor and Kate sees that she is upset.
"But it would've been you after Michelle." Kate says.
"After." Richelle says.
"Maybe mext time we go to nationals you can audition for it again." Phoebe says.
"That's in like two years." I say.
"Don't worry about it Richelle. You danced great like you always do." Kate says.
"If I danced great then how come I didn't get the solo?" She asks.
"Look what's done is done and there is nothing I can do about it." Kate says and walks pff sith Phoebe close behind.
I pull Richelle into a tight hug before we go home.
