It was the middle of the night and Katie had decided to just go out. She had her blade in her pocket and no one really went out this late on a school night, so she was okay.

Katie had decided to head to the lot where Johnny most likely was.
As soon as she arrived she heard someone's small cries.

"Johnny are you okay?" She asked as she got closer to the boy.

Her hazel eyes made contact with his swollen dark brown ones.

"Were you jumped?"
She immediately went by his side, taking the sleeve of her sweater and patting it against the cut on his cheek.

It wasn't the most sanitary thing to do, but it was all she had at the moment.

"Its....my parents." Johnny whispered quietly to Katie.

She could hear the fear in his voice, his eye was watery and he was shivering.

Katie stood up, "come on we'll walk to Pony's place it'll all be okay." Johnny stood up and almost collasped.

She immediately held on to them and started walking as fast as she could.

After 20 minutes of struggling the two quietly made it to the house.

Johnny had managed to make his way to the kithen counter as Katie went to go grt the first aid kit in the bathroom.

When she came back she immediately started tending to his wounds.

He pushed her hands away.
"What's the point Kate...i don't even know why i keep on livin." Johnny said. Katie's heart broke inside.

"Johnny Cade don't you dare say that!" She said to him.

"It's true no one wants me and no one will ever want me i'm just some hood trash!" Johnny said raising his voice a bit.

"What would Dally say if he heard that, Ponyboy? Steve? Anyone in the gang would tell you otherwise and don't forget that you have me Johnny we all care about you one way or another..." Katie said to him.

She pulled him into a hug, feeling his face in her soft blonde hair and hers into his chest.

They stayed like that for a few minutes until Katie started putting on bandages.

"Katie..." Johnny said softy.
"Yeah Johnny?" She responded.
"Thank you..." He leaned down and kissed her cheek.

She blushed a bit, then smiled at him.

Katie and Johnny started talking till the morning.

Darry woke up to sleeping Johnny and Katie basically cuddling on the couch.
