Early the next morning, Liverpool was desolate and peaceful. Which was rare. Sunday morning was the only time it was like this, maybe except New Year's Day, when every Scouse in the city was on hangover.

But it was on this morning, I found John sat on the curb outside Mendips.

"That rough, ay?" I asked, taking a seat beside him.

"Wouldn't even let me step foot in the house." He huffed. "Told me to shove off to Julia's for the night if I wanted her that much. Man is that crackpot sensitive."

"John, why didn't you just say? You could have stayed at mine the night!" I protested. "John I don't-"

"Nah Sam it's cool." He said, rubbing his frigid hands together. "I'm gonna stay at Julia's a while until things die down with Mimi."

"Ignoring her isn't going solve your problem John." I said collectedly, cupping my hands over his to warm them. "Mimi's hurt, and going to Julia's will only make it worse. You need to talk to her."

"How can I when she won't even let me inside the house Sam?" He argued.

"Would you like me to come with you then?" I smiled weakly, biting my lip.

"That would be nice." He said, a grin forming at the ends of his lips.

"Come on then." I sighed, standing up, and tugging on his arm for him to get up also.

"What? Now?" He panicked.

"Better sooner than later John."

The two of us crept behind the house to the back door, like we always used to.
As I pushed the handle down, and opened the door steadily, to find non other than Mimi stood with her arms crossed in the kitchen on the other side.

"Here goes." Sighed John.
