Burlesque treats a serious subject ridiculously or addresses a trivial story.

Banks are lean, mean greedy machines

Gobbling everyone's hard-earned cash

While the interest earnings hit a new low

Oh joy!--A year has passed and I got one cent

A lucky penny like one found on the sidewalk

A penny saved is a penny earned

The recession, drawbacks, and taxes

Emptying your wallet faster than you can say "paycheck"

Desperately digging for more money in the piggy bank

Your house is being foreclosed

At least there's no more mortgage to pay

Now the only worry is that plastic might devour you
