Chapter 7

Violet's POV:

"What?" He asked surprised.

"Daddy didn't tell you that, huh? My father was the CEO of his own business. Daddy dear shook him down because he thought my dad was stealing money; the stress and the fear got to my dad and went right to his heart. He died because he was scared of your dad." She spat standing up. Tears rolled down her face and I followed her upstairs.

"Violet?" Paige asked.

"Let's go Paige." Violet sniffled opening the door.

"Emerald wait." I said and she turned around her green eyes dark with anger.

"It's fucking Violet." She spat.

-------

"Hi Lukey, how was your little study group?" My mom asked. It was nine o'clock and her and my dad were sitting in the kitchen.

"Jake McKinnon." I said and my dad placed down his scotch glass.

"What about him?" He asked. My moms eyes flickered between my father and I.

"He died two years ago to a massive heart attack caused by stress." I said and he looked away briefly.

"That doesn't answer my question, Lucas." He said. My dad had this voice he always used on me when I didn't listen to mom.

"I go to school with Violet McKinnon, she is in my group for this presentation." I began.

"That's nice." My mom said trying to soften the mood.

"I made her cry tonight." I said looking between the two of them.

"I made a girl cry because my dad gave her father so much stress that resulted in him having a heart attack."

"Luke we had su-"

"Suspicion! You had suspicion that he was stealing money. You didn't know the whole story. She hates me because of you guys. Her brother hates me because of you guys hell if her dad was still alive he would probably hate me too."

"No one hates you Lukey." My mom said.

"Mom she looked me in the eye and called me an inconsiderate, egotistical and self-centred asshole. She loathes me."

"It was a mistake on my call, Lucas what do you want me to say? I made a mistake."

"I wanted you to admit that you fucked up." I said folding my arms.

"Lucas." My mom hissed.

"I want you to admit that you fucked up not only on the job but on my life. I actually liked this girl. I have liked her since grade seven and there is nothing I can do because she hates me. So thanks." I said turning my back and storming away.

Storm's POV:

"Lukey." I sighed sadly looking down at my glass of ginger-ale. Ace stared at the hallway after him before grabbing his glass and whipping it at the wall. He placed his hands on the counter and I rested my hand on top of his tattooed one.

"I will go talk to him. Clean that up because I am not doing it." I said getting up. I pressed a kiss to his cheek and walked upstairs. I knocked on Luke's door and he swung it open.

"Can I come in?" I asked. He turned and left the door open and leaned against his bathroom door. I sat on his bed and looked around.

"So, what does she look like?" I asked.

"Who?"

"Violet. That is such a pretty name." I said. He pulled out his phone and handed it to me and I looked at her Facebook page.

"Ooo are we creeping her?" I joked and he chuckled. I looked at her profile picture and smiled.

"She's gorgeous. Her eyes are beautiful."

"That's what everyone says." He smiled triumphantly.

"Listen Lucas, I know what your father did was a mistake and I know he can never change it but-"

"You want me to forgive him." He interrupted.

"Luke did you know your father kidnapped me?" I asked.

"What?"

"Oh yea. I went to the local high school, I was on track to go to Yale for journalism."

"That's where Violet wants to go. For English." He smiled.

"Well my final year I was walking home from a party where I got groped by this guy named Cameron, he was my biggest crush and he was disgusting." I said shivering

"And dad kidnapped you that night?"

"Oh yea, he held a gun to my head and everything. He was so mean to me."

"Mom dad held a gun to your head!?" He exclaimed and I laughed.

"Yes but what I'm trying to say is that even though he did that. I forgave him. He threatened to shoot me in the face and I forgave him and fell in love with him."

"Why?" He asked.

"He treated me like a princess, he rescued me, he's funny and he makes me feel like a little school girl. I love him so of course I forgave him." I said.

"So you're saying if Violet likes me that much she should be able to look past it?" He asked.

"Exactly. If she really likes you she won't listen to her brother and she will forgive you and your father." I said. He nodded looking at the floor and I began laughing.

"Remember when you got your lip pierced?" I asked. He touched the black metal and nodded.

"Yea dad said to get a tattoo and you said to stick to this."

"Of course and you know why?" I asked.

"Why?" He asked confused. I reached into my nose and pulled down the metal and he frowned.

"Mom why do you have that!?" He asked.

"I had it since I was seventeen." I shrugged.

"And you are thirty eight!" He exclaimed.

"So!? Madonna was making out with Drake and she was older than me!" I said.

"Do you think you're Stacey's mom!?" He exclaimed.

"No I am Lucas' mom! I thought we could match."

"Once you hit forty you are taking it out." He ordered.

"No who do you think you are? Your father?" I asked.

"You are taking it out at forty." He laughed.

"We will see. I will probably just continue to hide it." I shrugged standing up.

"Thanks mom." He said holding out his fist. I lightly hit it and hugged him tightly. He was tall like Ace so I had to bring his head down to my chest.

"My little Lukey, already in love." I said wiping under my eyes and he groaned.

"Go to bed." He said turning away and laughing.

"You go to bed. It's late." I countered.
