Chapter 47:

Ethan's POV:

"How did Luke make you like him?" I asked.

"He was really sweet and he did try his hardest to get my attention and...your brother is very dirty." She chuckled.

"He totally has a daddy kink. It's hot though." She shrugged.

"Having a hot girl call you daddy is one of the hottest things ever." I said.

"Then I guess it runs in the Rivers boys because your mom told me how your father made her call him daddy and he still does." She laughed.

"First off that's my mom...gross and secondly, of course he did my dad is a G." I said and she laughed again.

"Just be nice to her Ethan. She obviously had jocks betting on who was going to take her virginity or something. Show her that you are different." She said.

-------------

"Bye Harlow." I heard a guy say as he walked out of the library. I grabbed him and pushed him to the wall and he stared at me in shock.

"What does Harlow like? Coffee wise." I said.

"A medium Chamomile tea with two sugars." He said frightened.

"And?" I asked.

"A blueberry muffin." He said and I let him go and fixed his rumpled dress shirt.

"Thanks, dude. You're alright."

"Uh...thank you. May I go?" He asked nervously and I nodded as he dashed out the doors. I grabbed Harlow a cup of tea and a blueberry muffin and went back to the library. She was flipping through some papers as I came in.

"Don't you ever have class?" I asked her.

"I could ask you the same thing..." She said curiously.

"What are you doing?" She asked as I set down the tea and blueberry muffin.

"One medium Chamomile tea with two sugars and a blueberry muffin." I said as she took the bag and opened it.

"Okay, who told you this was my favourite?" She asked inspecting the muffin.

"I asked one of your friends." I shrugged.

"Friends? I don't have friends." She chuckled.

"Well that kid seemed to know you pretty well." I shrugged and she pulled off a piece of muffin and placed it in her mouth.

"I wouldn't call them my friends. We only associate in the library."

"Baby, you have friends." I said.

"No I don't and don't call me that." She said.

"Yes you do, sweetheart. I'm one of them."

"We aren't friends, Ethan and don't call me that." She said.

"Baby girl I have to call you something." I said.

"Try Harlow." She said dryly and I sighed.

"This is harder than I thought." I admitted while holding onto the counter.

"You are doing well so far, Ethan." She said softly. I looked up as she sipped her tea.

"How? You despise me." I said and she laughed shaking out her curled hair.

"On the contrary I enjoy your company." She said honestly.

"Really? Then why did you turn me down the other night?" I asked.

"I wanted to see how far you were willing to go. You're funny. A change from what I usually see in Med school or in here." She said gesturing to the study groups.

"Lowkey you aren't a nerd, baby girl." I smirked and she blushed.

"Depends what you think a nerd is. I enjoy writing, homework, reading, super heroes, comics and video games." She said.

"So you are a nerd. You have a World of Warcraft account don't you?" I teased causing her to laugh.

"I used to when I was in grade nine. Not anymore. I haven't played in a while." She admitted.

"So where is your next class?" I asked.

"Curtis Hall. Do you mind going for a walk?" She asked. I smirked at her as she began gathering up her books.

"No." I said turning away and walking out the door. I laughed and turned back and entered the library to see her jaw dropped.

"That was my reaction the other night too. I'm just kidding baby girl." I said reaching around the desk and taking her hand.

"Why are you holding my hand?" She asked.

"To let all the nerds, jocks, emos, goths, dancers, mathletes and everyone else that I am trying to steal your attention away from...pharmaceutics." I said reading one of her textbooks. She laughed grabbing the book and putting it back into her shoulder bag.

"And also because I want to." I said and a smiled rose on her face along with a blush. She looked away pushing up her glasses and I laughed.

"Baby girl you are too cute."
