Chapter 13

Violet's POV:

Jeff and I talked for a while until he had to leave. Paige was going out with Logan tonight so I was going to ask Briana to come with me.

"Hey are you interested in seeing a lacrosse game tonight and then a party?" I asked her as she stood next to Luke.

"Like a pro lacrosse game?" She asked.

"No Spencer's is having a game tonight." I said.

"Who do you know from there?"

"Jeff Huston, well I kind of just met him." I said tucking a piece of hair behind my ear.

"And you like him so you want me to be your wing woman for the evening?"

"Maybe, but most likely." I said quickly.

"You might see someone that can finally handle you." I said.

"Someone to handle your ass? I doubt it." Luke smirked as Briana shoved him.

"I'm in, it beats hanging out with him and Winters." She laughed.

"We don't need a third wheeler anyways." Cadence sneered as she wrapped her arms around Luke's torso and leaned against his chest. He placed an arm around around her shoulders and kissed her head. I had to stop myself from glaring at them so I focused my attention on Briana.

"You will definitely not be third wheeling with me. Let's go find you someone." I pleaded.

"Fine. I guess I better go put on something sensible." She said referring to her lacrosse shorts and hoodie.

"Let me help you." I said clapping oddly and she laughed.

"Yea no clapping for you for a while." She chuckled. We walked up to her room that was surprisingly really clean. I think it was cleaner than mine.

"Before you ask, my mom cleans my room." She said. I sat on her bed as she opened her closet.

"It's warm so maybe some ripped jeans." She said tossing a pair on the bed.

"And a simple tight white shirt to show that I am a girl." She laughed. After getting dressed Briana accompanied me back to my house where I did my best at showering with one hand and did my best to get changed, which is why I opted for a pair of leggings instead. I pulled on a navy blue plain shirt and tied my hair back into a pony tail.

"How is my accessory?" I asked flashing my bright pink cast.

"It's everything, let's go hit on some lacrosse boys and see what happens." She grinned.

------

"No matter what, our field will always be better than these metal benches." Briana said.

"Yes mostly because certain men donate to our school." I said referring to Ace Rivers and her father Blake Donaldson.

"Of course, daddy loves his angel." She grinned as we watched the field.

"Don't you think it looks weird because we are from neither of these schools?" She whispered.

"Spencer's will think we are from the other school and the other school will think we are from Spencer's." I shrugged.

"Wow is Jeffrey Huston waving at you?" She said amused. I looked over sure enough to see Jeff smiling at me. I waved and he grinned widely.

"He is so cute." I laughed and she raised an eyebrow.

"Listen while this game is happening we need to talk." She said seriously.

"About what?"

"About Lucas dumbass Rivers fucking with Cadence Winters." She said angrily.

"Why are you so angry about it?" I asked.

"Because I shipped you guys so hard I was waiting to have nieces and nephews with gorgeous eyes."

"I know you were, Bri." I laughed.

"So what happened? All those times I left you alone?"

"We fought- well I started fights with him and he moved on." I shrugged.

"He didn't move on! It's been a month you can't move on that quickly. It doesn't work like that." She said shaking her head.

"Maybe sometimes it does, I know he is like a brother to you but maybe he just wanted a quick fling with me." I said.

"I know Luke and I know he didn't just want a quick fling with you." She assured. I looked back at the game to see Jeff with the ball who shot it into the net. I clapped forcing a smile on my face even though my mind was racing with thoughts.
