^^ Cadence Winters

Chapter 11

Logan's POV:

"What's up with Eric?" I asked Ethan. We were on the football team together and Eric seemed distant today.

"He is having issues with Sam." Eric said quietly. Sam was our wide receiver and he was in grade twelve and basically a huge dick.

"What did he say?" I asked cautiously.

"The usual. He said faggot a lot." Ethan said upset. I sighed and dropped my helmet as I went out towards the field. We just had practice and hopefully Luke was still here. Sam was walking a dangerous path.

"You're fucking with a Rivers Sam." I warned walking on the field.

"Really Logan? Last time I checked Sophia kept her distance." He smirked.

"If Luke hears you talking about her like that he will kick your ass." I warned.

"Why because I said Eric was a fag and I didn't want him looking at me?" He asked.

"How can you say that?" I asked.

"Everyone knows Eric Rivers plays for the same team, in the sheets that is." He smirked and I shook my head.

"And? He is in grade ten and is just finding himself he is also replacing me for next year. Stop being intolerant you dick." I said turning around. Eric walked out with Ethan and I walked over to them.

"Are you alright?" I asked quietly.

"I'm fine, thanks Log." He whispered.

"Let me know if he says anything else." I ordered looking at the stands to see Luke with Cadence Winters. Paige had a lacrosse game so I would catch the last bit of it after practice.

"Lukey boy." I called placing my leg on the bleachers. Luke looked back at Cadence and then walked towards me.

"What's up?" He asked.

"First of all; what the fuck are you doing with Cadence?" I asked.

"It's complicated." He shrugged and I rolled my eyes.

"Violet is way more beautiful, but anyways Sam is bugging Eric." I said.

"What did he say?" He frowned.

"Calling him some gay slanders." I said buckling up my helmet. He looked at the field and frowned while toying with his lip ring. He was thinking.

"I will deal with it." He said looking down at the practicing cheerleaders. I followed his gaze to see Sophia, Sam waved to her and Luke sighed.

"She's a freshman and he is a senior." He sighed.

"Lots of guys like her, Luke. You guys are going to have trouble." I said patting his chest and hopping down and onto the field.

"Hey Soph." I waved.

"Hey Log!" She called.

Violet's POV:

I was beyond pissed. I knew a lot of girls liked Luke and I guess I should have known Cadence would like him but still.

"You fucking blew it, McKinnon." I whispered staring down the girl across from me harshly. She was easily close to six feet tall and she was bulky but that wasn't going to stop me from laying a hit.

I was given the ball and she ran towards me I went to turn and she caught my arm and I immediately dropped my stick as my arm flailed freely. I looked back to see the bone connecting to my elbow out of place. I let out a pained groan as I held my arm. The ref blew the whistle as Briana jogged over to me followed by Paige.

"Oh my God! Okay it's not even that bad!" Paige gasped and I knew it was bad.

"Holy shit what do I do!?" I said freaking while bouncing back and forth on my legs. Coach jogged over and I had to stop myself from screaming.

"Luke can drive her to the hospital and he can call Zach ahead!" Briana assured as I was led off the field. Briana took my helmet and coach placed a towel over my arm.

"Rivers, take her to her brother. It's faster than an ambulance. When the game is over I will head there." He said. I pulled off my equipment carefully leaving me in my shorts, socks, cleats and tight Under armour shirt.

"Holy fuck drive faster." I groaned holding out my arm.

"I don't want to get pulled over!" He said frantically.

"Oh my God I'm going to throw up!" I yelled rolling down the window. The pain was too much.

"Not in my car! Just don't think about it!" He yelled back.

"Lucas fucking Rivers my bone is out of place I can't just not think about it!" I yelled and he grabbed the towel.

"That's why this is here! Put it over that thing!" He yelled disgustingly. We pulled in to the parking lot and he helped me out before jogging inside.

"Violet?" A nurse asked as tears rolled from my eyes.

"Get Zach." I said trying not to sob, just wait until I see Zach and I'll start crying.

"Okay just calm down." He said holding up his hands.

"I can't." I cried hopping back and forth on my feet.

"Violet?" Someone asked. I turned and Zach must have been on break because he only wore black pants and a blue dress shirt.

"Zach." I cried holding out my arm. His eyes went wide slightly before he went into Doctor mode. He brought me to a room and helped me lay on the bed while taking my blood pressure and giving me a morphine inhaler. It was a tube with a mouthpiece that allowed you to breathe in so that the medicine could spread quickly. I breathed it in harshly as he rolled my to the x-rays.

He moved my silver necklace out of the way as he got someone to take the pictures.

"Just let me look at these. How are you feeling?" He asked.

"Like I'm on cloud nine." I smirked and he shook his head.

"You always acted strange to morphine." He said.
