^^ Violet's dress
Chapter 39
Violet's POV:
"What is this place?" I asked.
"Just a little family owned restaurant." He said.
"Twinkling lights, outdoor patio all to ourselves." I said happily. He pulled out a chair for me and I sat down.
"Sebastian? You still working here?" Luke smiled. An elderly man that hunched over slightly came over.
"Lucas, I was working here when your father first brought your mother here and when your grandfather brought your grandmother here." He smiled.
"I also got your message from Joseph." Sebastian winked. I raised my eyebrow at Luke as he grinned widely.
"Thanks Seb."
"Of course. I will bring you both some champagne even though you are not technically of age." He smirked.
"Come on Seb it's only a few more months." Luke shrugged. Sebastian walked away and Luke stood up.
"Since we have the patio reserved to ourselves, I have put together a little piece for my love." He said walking towards the stage. He grabbed his guitar from behind a piano and he cleared his throat. Three men came out and I recognized them from school. Luke and them used to have jam sessions together.
I began giggling like a fan girl as he put his guitar around his shoulder.
"Of course first, I know this song as of right now is your top played song on your phone." He said rolling his eyes. He began playing the tune to Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding.
I smiled resting my chin in my hands and sitting on the edge of my chair. His face was so passionate and concentrated. He loved music and I loved seeing the smile on his face when his eyes met mine.
He played all my favourite songs from Maroon 5 to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and even Warrant.
"She's my cherry pie..." I sang silently. I clapped when he finished and he bowed.
"Why thank you, thank you." He laughed.
"Now for the final one...can you guess?" He asked and I laughed.
"Uh...Demi Lovato?" I asked and he shook his head.
"Come on...our song?" He asked and I giggled.
"Of course I knew what you were talking about." He began playing A Thousand Years and after a while he switched with his band mate and came down holding out his hand.
"May I have this dance?" He asked and I nodded taking his hand. He twirled me around the dance floor to make my dress spiral out. He wrapped an arm around my waist and bent me down. He crushed his lips to mine passionately as he pulled me back up.
"You make me so happy, Emerald." He said kissing my cheek bone.
"Aww, you make me happy too, Lukey." I said, entwining my fingers with his. We swayed back and forth with the twinkling lights in the background.
After the song was over we ate dinner and dessert.
"I still did get you something although I didn't know when I was going to get to see you." He said pulling out a white box. His wrapping skills were horrendous so this was probably the best wrapping I would ever get.
"Alright, let me see." I said opening the box to reveal a velvet box.
"Jewellery?" I asked. He took a sip of his champagne as I opened the box to reveal a gorgeous silver banded ring.
"Luke." I whispered.
"Relax it's not an engagement ring. It's a promise ring...still heavy though." He said.
"Really, Luke? I mean that much to you?" I asked surprised.
"Of course you do, Vi." He said and I smiled slipping the band on.
"My gift seems so shit compared to yours." I said pulling a small wrapped box from my purse.
He opened it revealing a black and blue beaded, matte bracelet. It was custom made and blessed by the elders in my tribe.
"I had it custom made for you, and one of my aunts custom painted some tribal symbols on some of the beads, it represents your life journey- your siblings, us meeting, fighting and then finally getting together. As more events happen my aunt said she will paint the events on for you. I know it's not a fancy watch but it's the only one out there." I explained clipping it onto his wrist.
"You did that for me?" He asked admiring it amongst his other small bracelets.
"Yea, if you don't like it, it's fine I can get you something else."
"No I love it baby girl." He said placing his hand over mine.
"You're welcome, I'm glad you like it." I smiled.
"Happy anniversary. I love you Vi." He said.
"Happy anniversary, Lukey. I love you too."
