Violet's POV:

"A-are you serious?" I stuttered as Ace took a sip of his coffee, he nodded and I sighed meeting eyes with Luke briefly.

"So the guy, this Russian guy Vlaidis? Is he dead?" I asked.

"Oh yea, him and his whole Mafia are dead. They back stabbed us and almost killed Brandon's wife, Anastasia."

"And how did they get ahold of my dad again?" I asked confused.

"Your father and I were good friends we went to Spencer's together, I always kept an eye on him. I take my eye off of him briefly and Vlaidis' men were on them."

"How do I know you are telling the truth?" She asked.

"There is no other way I can assure you so you will just have to take my word. I never lie, Violet." He said meeting my eyes.

He looked so much like Luke and I sighed.

"I know this is hard to take in, Violet and because Luke is so in l-"

"Mom!" Luke said his face flushed heavily.

"Oh sorry baby cakes!" She apologized while giggling. Storm was so cute I couldn't help but giggle with her.

"I-I need some time to think about this, I will see you at school Luke." I smiled softly.

I ran my hand through my hair and took a seat next to Luke in English. Briana was partners with someone else so I took her seat.

"Hi." Luke said quietly and I looked over at him and stared at the scruff on his face, then his pink lips, then his lip ring and finally his bright blue eyes.

"Uh Violet?" He asked waving his hand in my face. I shook my head and blinked rapidly.

"I-I'm sorry Luke, I was just thinking." I whispered.

"Wanna ditch? We have a supply today." He asked and I met his eyes and smiled.

"Sure." I said standing up with him. We dashed out of the classroom and the supply teacher called after us but we were already down the hallway. We began giggling like idiots as we made it to our lockers.

"I have never ditched class like that! That was such an adrenaline rush!" I said and he laughed.

"So innocent, Emerald." I stopped laughing and I smiled at him.

"What?" He asked confused.

"Nothing, I-" I stuttered while feeling my cheeks get hot.

"I just missed you calling me Emerald." I whispered. We stared at each other for what felt like minutes until he cleared his throat and opened his locker.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"To the cafe." He said pulling out his guitar. I knew Luke could play any instrument he wanted but I never heard him play.

"Okay let me grab a drink." I said pulling out my thermos full of tea. We walked to the cafe that only had a few other people in it and we sat at the far end.

"Where is Cadence?" I whispered as we sat down.

"We broke up." He said blandly as he pulled the guitar out of the bag.

"Oh I'm sorry." I said.

"It was bound to happen. We didn't suit each other. She was kind of a fling." He shrugged as he began strumming.

"How's ol' Jeffy?" He asked.

"He is working on scholarships so we haven't spent much time together." I said honestly.

"Are you guys going to prom together?" He asked.

"Yea, I still have to get a dress though."

"You haven't begun looking?" He chuckled.

"I have I think I might wear something white...bring out my eyes." I said.

"It would look nice with your tanned skin." He complimented. I smiled but said nothing and just listened to him play his guitar. I knew the song he was playing and I smiled.

"Are you playing a thousand years? I thought you would play something a little more manly." I teased.

"What, you don't like it?" He asked.

"I do." I smiled and he began singing along.

"I have died everyday waiting for you, darling don't be afraid I have loved you for a thousand years, I'll love you for a thousand more..." I smiled as his voice floated through my ears. I closed my eyes and moved back and forth slightly.

"I have loved you for a thousand years..." I whispered.
