Steph’s POV
“Steph, paki ayos naman yung mga files na ‘to. Yan daw yung gagamitin ni Ma’am Elaine sa presentation next week.” Sabi sa akin ni Sandra sabay bagsak ng isang pile ng folders sa table ko. Si Sandra ang secretary ni Ma’am Elaine, ang boss namin dito.
“Ocge, salamat” sabi ko sa kanya. Tiningnan ko yung laman nung mga folders. Napakamot nalang ako ng ulo sa dami ng gagawin ko.
While I was busy scanning each page of what I’m reading, lumapit sa table ko si Ma’am Elaine. “Steph, have you inform Mr. Perez about the GTM account?” tanong nya sa akin.
Shocks, I forgot. “Ahmmm. I’m gonna call him now” I told her then pick up the phone immediately.
“What?! You we’re suppose to do that yesterday” she added. Mabuti nalang at mabait ang itsura nitong boss ko kaya kahit nagagalit sya ay medyo hindi nakakatakot.
“I know. I’m sorry.” Then I dialed Mr. Perez’ office number. Yung secretary nya ang nakasagot at nag iwan nalang ako ng message. Then I smile at Ma’am Elaine after I hang up the phone.
“Kamusta naman pala yung proposal nung team nyo para sa Australian investors natin?” she eagerly asked. Shit, nakalimutan ko din yung about don. I haven’t talk to my team since I came.
“Ahmmm. We’re working on it” I somehow lied to her.
“May I see?” then she open her palm to me.
“I ahh.. I l-left it at home” kill me now.
Umiling-iling sya bago pumamewang. “Steph, I understand that you’re still suffering from what happened at your wedding. I mean it’s terrible and I feel sorry about that, but If you keep on being so irresponsible with your job.. then.. I can’t give you the promotion that you’ve always wanted.” I see the concern in her face.
“To be honest, I saw the proposal of the other team yesterday and I’m telling you, it’s fantastic. Kung hindi mo pa kayang magtrabaho, then just quit the Australian deal. Hayaan mo na kay Alvin yun.” She added
Si Alvin ang mortal competitor ko dito sa opisina. He’s a nice guy but when it comes to work, wala syang inuurungan. Simula noong nagtrabaho ako dito, marami na akong naririnig na mga chismis about sa akin. Sinasabi nila na kaya lang daw ako natanggap dito ay dahil maipluwensya ang pamilya ko. Dahil mayaman daw kami at maraming koneksyon. Kaya naman araw-araw, kailangan kong patunayan sa lahat na meron akong ibubuga.
“No! No! Don’t worry about me, I’m fine. I'm perfectly fine.” I enthusiastically told her. I cannot lose this promotion to Alvin.
