Party
[Name] detested parties.
She never knew the reason why. Was it because the speakers were turned up so loud that she couldn't even hear herself think? Maybe it was because the humidity from all the bodies dancing around her. If anything, it had to be the guys that eyeraped her body, despite the fact that she was the most modest person in the room.
An arm went around her, making her skin crawl. "You know, I was feeling a little off today, but you definitely turned me on," the owner of the arm said. She pushed him away. "I'm not interested," she mumbled. His face went close to her face. She could smell the pungent odor of alcohol on his breath. She scrunched up her nose and turned away.
"I told you I'm not interested," [Name] repeated. It seemed like the guy didn't hear her, for his hand went on the inner part of her thigh. "I could satisfy you more than any other man could." She scooted over to the edge of the couch. "I don't need any satisfaction. I just want to be left alone," she said. The male seemed to pause before his face darkened. "Fuck you, skank. You just missed the biggest opportunity of your life." With that, he got up and left, probably to find another girl to bait into having sex with.
She sighed and put her knees up to her chest. "That was too close," she mumbled to herself.
"What was too close?"
If her skin could jump off her body, that is what it would do at this moment. She shrieked and nearly fell off the couch. [Name] looked over to guy with wide eyes. "Holy shit, you scared me!" she exclaimed. He gave her a smile. "I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to scare you," he said with sincerity. She put her hand on where her erratically beating heart was. "Um, it's alright," she said. She buried her face into her legs. She really didn't like parties.
[Name] didn't even flinch when she felt a hand rubbing her upper back. "Are you alright? You don't look very well. I can take you outside if you need to," the male said. She looked up at him. She knew that she shouldn't take up his offer. He was a stranger. Yet, it just felt right looking up at his one gray eye that wasn't covered by hair. She didn't notice it until now, but he was very attractive.
"Um, sure. Yea, that would be nice," she said. He smiled and grabbed her hand. She didn't think about her surrounding areas when he pulled her through a crowd of sweaty bodies. All that she thought about was the warmth radiating from his hand.
As expected, the air was cold outside. She looked up at the moon that was half covered by clouds. Even though there wasn't a star in sight, the sky looked awfully pretty. [Name] wrapped her arms around herself and sat on a bench. The guy followed suit and sat next to her. "Here," he said, taking off of his jacket," You look cold. Take my jacket." He held out his jacket to her. Without complaint, she slipped it on. Instantly she felt warmer.
"You're awfully kind to someone you just met. I mean, I don't even know your name," [Name] said. She tightened her hold on the jacket. She couldn't help but notice the smell of the cologne he must have been wearing. "I'm Himuro Tatsuya. I'm assuming you're [First Name] [Last Name]? I overheard someone saying that and pointing towards the couch," he said. She quickly stopped looking at him like he was a creeper. Instead, she focused on the night sky.
"Hey! Do ya think that's a shooting star?"
"I'm pretty sure that's an airplane, [Name]-san."
"Oh. Well, whatever. I'm still wishing on it. It's kinda like that Western song. Airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars~!"
"You're accent is horrible."
"Hey! I'm Japanese, not British or American. What did you expect?"
Throughout the night, they chatted, joked, and wished on things that weren't stars. There was only one thing that she had in mind the whole time.
"I guess parties aren't so bad after all"
