Back in Time

As human beings, we never can truly appreciate what we have until we've gone through a period of not having it. Some say this phenomenon happens because we believe we deserve it until it is gone. Others say that it is because we always live in the past and never in the future. In reality, it is just another mystery that the human brain has provided for us.

And as of right now, [Name] was in this situation.

She wasn't aware that she was put into a situation such as this one. In fact, to her it had seemed like she was just rescued from being trapped in a manhole. It was weird. She could remember the voice of her boyfriend Hanamiya calling out from above her. However once the construction worker helped her out, she couldn't see a trace of him anywhere.

Her head spun as she thought of all of this. This died down when a familiar face passed by her. [Name]'s face instantly brightened as she ran over to the person. "[Girl's Nickname]!" The girl, who was [Name]'s best friend, turned around. She raised one of her eyebrows. "How do you know my name?" She asked. [Name] smiled widely. "Silly! It's me, [Last Name] [First Name]!"

Instantly the confused look on her face was replaced with a look of anger. [Name]'s head was lashed to one side as [Girl's Name] slapped her. "Don't you dare talk to me like you know me. I know that you've been the one who wrote those mean letters and put them in my locker! Stay away from me, you mask wearing weirdo!" [Name] watched as her (ex)best friend stomped away from her.

She touched her face. Somehow she didn't realize that she had been wearing a mask that covered the upper part of her face. Her arms fell back to her side. "What just happened?" She mumbled. She put her hands on her head in a feeble attempt to ease the pain it was causing.

"Oh! I can call Makoto!" She exclaimed. Putting in the number that she knew by heart, she listened anxiously for the sound of his voice. Instead, she got the automated voice of a female.

"The number you have dialed is not in use."

She stood there shocked for a second before stuffing it into her pocket. "It was bound to break at some point. Stupid old phone," she angrily said while kicking the ground. This was confusing. It would make sense if the voice had said something about it not being in range or that he had just ignored it. But saying that the number was not in use? There was definitely something wrong.

"Makoto still has basketball practice right now. I can just go ask him what's wrong with [Girl's Name]!" She exclaimed. Luckily for her, Kirisaki Daīchi wasn't very far away from her current location. Once she had stepped onto campus, a familiar voice called out to her.

"[Last Name]-san!"

Her face instantly brightened as she turned towards the person. "[Boy's Name]! Hey, I told you to stop being so formal with me. Anyways, have you seen Makoto? And [Girl's Name] has been acting weird. Do you know anything about that?" She asked. The meek boy flinched at the loudness of her voice and shakily tried to hand her a paper. "I-I don't know who [Girl's Name] is. And I don't like to talk with H-Hanamiya. He's really mean... Anyways, I need you to take this home! Thank you!" He shoved the paper into her hands and ran away.

[Name] grasped the paper in her hand. She quickly scanned the paper, but her eyes instantly stopped when she saw the date on the bottom of the paper. It fluttered away from her hands as she stood there in shock. "It's... It's a year in the past?" She asked herself.

This would have explained why everyone was treating her like a stranger. A year ago, [Girl's Name] was just a girl who thought that [Name] was bullying her even though it was revealed to be another girl later. [Boy's Name] was just another person in her class that she wouldn't have bothered to even talk to. In fact, a year ago she never talked to anyone. All she did was study, eat, and sleep.

Now that she looked back, she was awfully lonely.

She walked aimlessly around the school. It was useless to go to anyone else. Most of her friends were people who had moved to Kirisaki Daīchi, so she knew that they weren't an option. A shout coming from the gym got her out of her stupor. Her heart rate sped up as she remembered her original task that brought her to the school in the first place.

Peeking through the gym, she saw a boy on the floor and Hanamiya standing over him. He was turned towards some other members. "They're probably learning some more dirty tricks," she mumbled to herself. While she had never liked his tactics on the court, he treated her fairly well so she never did mind.

After a peculiarly erratic hand movement, all the listening players scattered away to the bench. He walked away from the fallen boy and looked towards her. He frowned and marched over to her. "Hey, we don't need any more freaks around here. Go away now before I make you," he harshly said. She tried to say something, but no sound would come out of her mouth. She put one of her hands on her throat.

"Are you deaf or something?" Hanamiya asked. She could see it in his eyes that his already low patience was running thin. Instead of doing what he asked, she wrapped her arms around him. He froze for a second before pushing her away. "What the hell are you doing, idiot! Don't go touching me with your dirty hands!" He exclaimed. He was going to yell more, but for some reason he couldn't find the words to say to her. Looking at her defeated form made his heart clench in the weirdest way possible.

He reached over to her and gently took off her mask. His heartbeat raced in a way he never felt before as he looked into his eyes. "Have we met before?" He asked. This caused her to give him a small smile. She pulled him down by his collar and whispered into his ear.

"Not yet. But trust me, you'll be seeing a lot of me in the future."

And as soon as she said that, she found herself looking up to a bright blue sky. There were black spots in the corners of her eyes. It felt like there was bile in her throat, but she swallowed it. It wasn't until she did this when she noticed someone yelling at her. Turning her head, she saw a black haired figure running towards her. "Makoto?"

She sat up as he finally got to her. [Name] had never seen him so worried in his eyes before. He yanked her up and checked all over her face. After seeing that she was perfectly fine, he sighed and flicked her forehead. "Idiot. You almost made me have a heart attack," he said. He grabbed her hand and dragged her towards the direction of her house. She looked to his free hand and saw that her school bag was hanging from it.

"Makoto, can you say my name?" She asked softly. Hanamiya stopped in his tracks and looked at her. "You know what your name is," he said with his eyebrow furrowed. She blushed while turning her face away. "I just want to hear you say it. Is that so hard to understand?" He observed her for a second before bringing her close to him and leaning down to her ear. "Your name is [Last Name] [First Name] and your mom will kill me if I don't take you home right now," he whispered. She was dragged once more as soon as he pushed her away.

As her face flushed red and her heart soared, one single thought arose in her mind.

Yes, she would never take their love for granted.

tfw you don't know how to end something

Read "Yandere Kanojo"! It's the manga where I got this idea and the one where Takao's fly is unzipped. It's a gag manga that's (obviously) lighthearted and funny, but then it gets hella serious but funny at the same time. And then you're sitting there looking at it and wondering "how did they pull this off i loVE IT SO MUCH"

Well, if you're like me you'll be like that.

PINKITHAI'S MANGA SELECTION OF THE WEEK... OR MAYBE MONTH IDEK

Also, what should I do for when this story reaches 5K views? Hmm...

I kinda wanna make a GOM x Reader (that's actually serious *le gasp*). Like, Teikō is having a school festival and everyone has a romantic situation with Reader-chan? Yes? Maybe?

I dunno. I'll think about it more.
