Ms. Tea and Me (Completed)

Call me Problem Solver

From the airport we took a taxi to her hotel. She took pain killer for her foot but she still have difficulty walking without leaning her weight on me.

We were greeted by a nice gentleman in the lobby.

"Im Maine Mendoza. I have reservation here." And she showed him a piece of paper that confirms her payments.

"I can see you having difficulty standing up, would you like to sit there while I check your reservation?"

"Thank you!" I said to the guy and slowly walked towards the sofa in front of the lobby.

"Frank, uy! Dont be a stranger ha? Magkita pa din tayo pag may free time ka. Libre kita ng kape. Saka diba madalas ka na dito sa London, so alam mo na magagandang lugar dito. Pasyal mo ko ha?"

"Oo naman. Me utang ka pang kiss sa akin."

"Ang kulit!"

"Ang daldal!"

The guy came to us with a worried face.

"First of all I would like to apologize. There must be some problem with communcation with the booking company. See, we are fully booked and we cannot accomodate you right now."

"What?!"

"At this point the only thing we could offer is refund your reservation." The guy sounded really apologetic but I could sense a melt down from the lady next to me, I had to act fast.

"Let me talk to your manager. Maine, wait for me here. Look at our luggages and Ill handle this."

We left Maine in the sofa looking worried but I know how to handle mistakes like this on reservation. After 15 minutes, I came with a fat envelope and called on Maine.

"Lets go. Youre staying with me." I whispered to Maine. She look shocked and just followed my lead.

I told the taxi driver my apartment address and handed Maine the envelope.

"They returned your money plus 10% for the inconvenience."

"Wow! How did you do that?"

I winked at her.

"Now, your options is to get another hotel and use your cash for it. But I have a better offer, stay with me in my apartment and you can use your cash for something else."

"Why would I do that?"

"Uummm... Because thats a huge cash you have right there. And Im offering you free lodging."

"Whats in it for you?"

"I dont have to stay here alone."

"I dont..."

"Maine, seriously, youre gonna say no to free lodging in London?"

The lady next to me was quite until we reach the door of my apartment.

"Hindi ka naman rapist, diba?" She asked still not entering my apartment.

I looked at her in disbelief.

"Ngayon ka pa magdududa sa akin?"

"Well, kailangan ko pa din tanungin diba? Very generous yung offer mo kaya hindi mo maaalis sa aking magduda. Wala ng libre ngayon. Malay ko kung talagang manyak ka. Sa panahon ngayon hindi na madaling kilalanin ang mga rapist noh! Malay ko ba?"

"Sa maniwala ka man o hindi, Im not." And then I went inside. From my peripheral view, I can see that shes standing on the door step.
