Chapter 23

The moment I awaken, the events of yesterday come flooding back with a painful cramp from down under and the infuriating sting of the scratches on my arms, legs and hips, as well as on the right side of my neck where I can feel stinging claw marks.

I warmth on my left arm and a hand in my right hand, causing me to open my eyes and see Laya on my right while glaring at what assume is the warmth on my left arm.

I look to my left and see Luke halfway on the bed, holding my arm like it's a teddy bear as he half curls onto the bed with his lower body dangles off the bed.

Laya's eyes widen as she noticed mine was open. She looks at me with concern in her eyes as I look back at her with my guarded expression. She IS the reason I was killed by her dumb ass of a mate and then resurrected by some purple creature that I thought was a normal female!

I then shift my glare towards Luke and try to wiggle my way out of his grasp causing Laya to bite her lip in amusement. "Don't even try, he's got you handcuffed to his arm," she tells me softly causing me to stare at him with a blank irritated expression.

I look at the bedside table, trying to spot the key until I notice that Luke has a chain around his neck. The little faggot.

I lift thee chain from his neck and use my arm to hold it so I could manoeuvre my hand so I could grab the key; which I did, just so by the way.

I lift my hand a bit and un-cuff it carefully. After that I just slide my arm out of his grasp and get up to go put some clothes on since I'm still naked... Poor Lexi... Had to carry a naked girl (me) home... I wonder how that would look like...

After I do this; I carefully sway my way over to the window, but Laya stops me with a stern look. I huff and make my way out of my door and downstairs. Everyone is in the living room so I just casually head to the kitchen and grab some boneless uncooked chicken from the packet.

Laya follows by giving me another stern look and causing me to put the chicken on my scarred neck, making her smile and head to the living room.

I watch her leave and quickly take the chicken off my neck and shove half of it in my mouth. It's really chewy but soft so I don't care. It's just like sushi, but humans can't eat it like this cause they'll get sick.

I sit with the chicken half in my mouth and half dangling in the air as I sit at the counter and make myself a milkshake with strawberries I found in the fridge. Weird combination but why not? I feel like strawberries and raw chicken today. You are what you eat they say... Well... I'd be chewy and sweet.

Right after I finish my milkshake after making a lot of noise thanks to the blender, I just sit and sip my milkshake and chew my chicken.

After like 5 seconds I feel like I'm being watched so I look up for any sign of Luke but only see... everyone else just staring at me like I'm a ghost.

Laya groans and walks over to me and grabs the chicken causing me to growl and tug it back. She gives me a look and I shift my eyes to my dragon's eyes and make steam come from my nose, causing her to let go.

"You come back after months of being missing in the bloody forest and head to the fridge first...!" Mom exclaims, causing me to not my head and make an 'Eh' noise like the peanut butter baby on YouTube.

She rushes over to me with Amy and engulfs me in a hug. "Ew! Your meat touched my hair!" Amy exclaims, causing my eyes to widen "Geth yer hair out o mah chicken!" I exclaim through my raw chicken.

I then notice Nyx has a baby bump. Human baby: Nine months. Dragon baby: 3 months and lay an egg then wait 4 months for it to hatch; but you eat like a damn tornado for three months no matter what it is. So that's 7 months for both dragon parents, I am so lucky in the future.

Half dragon and half human baby usually depends on how it's born cause if the dragon is the male then the baby is born normally, but if the baby's born from a female dragon it gets born as an egg in about 4 months and hatches in 5 months depending if it's born dragon or protector. If it's born a protector it's born the normal way. If their twins and one is protector and other dragon, then it's also born normally.

"Mia!" someone yells. "Wha?! Who?! Where?!" I say shocked, causing me to drop my chicken on my lap. I quickly lift it up and swallow it whole. I then walk to the fridge and grab the rest of the chicken because I'm still hungry and my stomach is growling. Shush! I feed you know!

I then start cutting up the chicken in smaller bits and swallow them whole. I look up at mom who's smiling widely and might I add freakishly... Causing me to look at Amy for help as I scarf the food down, but she's looking at the chicken with a disgusted expression.

I look up and see Matt and have to take a double take, "Matfh? Wha aw yow doin hea?" I ask shocked. Matt then goes red and so does my mother. I close my eyes in slits and look over at Amy, flashing my dragon eyes to show her I mean business.

"Mom and Matt are dating now," she says as if it were the most normal thing ever. I look up at Matt and give him a nod of approval as I finish the last chicken and am still hungry.

I head to the fridge again, causing a groan to be heard, "You cannot seriously want more food?!" Nyx exclaims loudly. I look back at her and then notice Michael hovering behind Laya like a scared shadow with tired eyes.

I move over to Michael and hug him, surprizing everyone, including myself. I release him and tap him on the forehead and move back to the fridge, almost shoving half my upper body inside.

I take out a plate of spaghetti and start gobbling it down. I shift my gaze to Amy and then look at her hand that's connected to Harry's.... I stare at their hands and haven't noticed that I stopped eating.

Their hands release and I look up at their flushed faces then continue eating, causing Ashton to giggle, so I glare at him.

I finish the spaghetti and go back to the fridge as I take out the peanut butter and sniff it, causing my to gag.

I grab my wallet and then Ashton by the arm and pull him outside and towards what I assume in his car, slamming him against the car and telling him to drive to Target.

When we get there I fish for my wallet and go to the frozen section. I put a bunch of boneless meat in the cart as well as some ice cream and a bunch of boneless fish meat. I then get a bunch of chips and potato sacks and give the full trolley to Ashton, causing him to gawk as we go to the till.

I buy all the stuff with penny's to spare and the lady asks if we're having a braai, causing me to laugh, "No it's mine," I say and drag the trolley from the till and laughing woman.

I take the bags out of the trolley with Ashton's help and place them in the car. When we get home Michael helps us carry the food inside and I take the meat and ice cream to my room and tell my mother to make potatoes for dinner.

When I enter my room and dump the meat in my mini freezer, I immediately feel arms around my waist and a face in my neck.

"Eh... Get off so I can chow mah chicken," I say half seriously as I lift the chicken from the freezer. Luke grabs it from me and throws it back in the freezer, causing my eyes to tear up, "My chicken..." I say in a waver voice, causing Luke to stiffen and move to stand in front of me as I look at the chicken with teary eyes.

"Are you alright babe...? You can have your chicken... I just want a kiss... or a hug... I missed you," Luke says hugging me as I reach for my chicken while also holding onto Luke with my left arm.

Luke bends down a gives me my chicken and I look up at him with big watery eyes, "Thank you... But you still have to eat Cheerio's downstairs," I say and hug my chicken to my chest.
