josh's pov
tonight, i was taking tyler on a date to officially ask him to be my boyfriend. i'd be lying to you if i were to say i wasn't nervous. i would've never thought that a stupid app would give me the opportunity to meet my possible soulmate. i truly do like tyler. i can assure you that my feelings for him are pretty high on the love meter. (a/n im such a cheeseball help me)
i'm picking tyler up at 5 tonight. it's quarter past 4 right now and i'm currently checking my outfit in the mirror. ya know, it's really easy to dress yourself in all black versus trying to find a ton of colors that match together. 'hashtag life tips with josh' i thought to myself. grabbing my car keys, i make my way to my jeep, pulling out of the driveway so i can go grab a few roses for tyler.
my plan for tonight is to bring tyler to La Reve, a fancy restaurant about 20 minutes from columbus. after dinner, i'm bringing him to a gazebo lined with hundreds of tealight candles. soft, slow music will be playing, we'll be slow dancing and that's when i'll ask him.
it's 4:50 pm and i'm standing in front of tyler's door, a bouquet of roses in my hand behind my back. knocking, i wait patiently for my soon-to-be love. i see the door open only to find tyler, dressed in a black suit. i immediately put my hand over my mouth, my eyes widening at how fucking beautiful he looked. "h-hi josh" he grinned. i remove my hand from my back and my mouth and presented the flowers to tyler. "hey b-baby boy, these are f-for you." i smiled, my cheeks are really starting to hurt. he grabbed them, looked at them then back at me, with the biggest smile planted on his face. "they're beautiful, j. thank you." his face as red as the roses, he offered me inside. i kindly agreed and stepped in. "ty, you look absolutely stunning." i said, a blush forming on his face again. "thank you joshy, you look pretty hot yourself" tyler said, smirking. "shall we get going?" i questioned. he nodded, "we shall." he gave a toothy grin, showing his crooked bottom teeth, one of the many things i love about him.
i walked him to the car, opening the door for him and watching as he stepped in. once he was situated, i shut the door and made my way to the drivers side. i pulled out of the apartment complex's parking lot and started driving towards the restaurant. "where are we going?" tyler asked. "i thought you'd know me by now, ty! you know i won't tell you!" i laughed at his frustration, and continued driving. i reached over and grabbed his hand, intertwining our fingers. in the corner of my eye, i saw him look at me, i returned the gesture giving him a big smile, i brought his hand up and kissed it. i saw his cheeks become red once again. "you are the absolute cutest, did you know that?" i asked him. "i beg to differ, mr. dun." he smirked. "i will fight you on this, joseph." i smirked back. "lets do it then." he challenged. "sorry, can't right now, i'm bringing this really hot boy on a dinner date." "damn, whoever that boy is, he's really lucky. he's going on a date with a really attractive man. i'm fucking jealous!" tyler said. we both started laughing uncontrollably.
10 minutes later, we were pulling into the restaurant parking lot. i looked over at tyler, his eyes wide and mouth open just the slightest bit. he turned to me, "josh...this restaurant..its one of the most expensive ones in ohio! how did you afford this?!" i saved up every damn penny i owned on this date tonight. i wanted it to be perfect. those were my intentions and i'm going to keep it that way. "don't worry about it, tyler. i want you to enjoy yourself. that's the only thing i want you to worry about, okay?" he nodded and mumbled an 'okay.' "great, now lets go inside." i grinned, opening my door and quickly rushed to his side to open the door for him. he thanked me as i held my arm out, looping his arm with mine.
we entered the restaurant, both of us taking in our surroundings. we walked towards the podium where a thin, blonde haired, waitress was standing. "name?" she questioned. "dun, joshua dun." the waitress nodded, "right this way, please." we followed her to a table set for two, with a beautiful candle centerpiece sitting right in the middle. she handed us our menus, "wine?" the woman asked. i looked over at tyler, he nodded towards me. i looked back at the woman, "please." i confirmed. she told us she'd be right back with the alcoholic juice. "this is beautiful, josh. i can't thank you enough." tyler said, love bursting through his brown orbs. "no need to thank me, tyler. you deserve this." he nodded and thanked me once again. the waitress came back to our table, "are you two ready to order?" she asked. we ordered our meals and made small talk until our dinner came.
tyler and i finished our lovely meals, talking a bit more, sipping our wine, just enjoying life. the bill came and i immediately put my hand on it and dragged it towards me. tyler begged to pay, or at least half, but i still refused. we finally left the restaurant and were in the car going to our next destination. "i had a really great night, josh. thank you again, i mean it." he said. "oh, baby boy! the night isn't over yet!" he had the most confused on his face, a quite adorable confused face, might i add. "w-what do you mean?" he asked, oblivious to the fact that we were pulling into the park where the gazebo was located. i got him out of the car, locked our hands together and walked him over to the gazebo. the music was already playing and it was lit with dim tealight candles.
i brought him to the center of the pavilion. "may i have this dance?" i asked, putting my hand out to have him take it. he gladly accepted as he wrapped his arms around my neck, my hands automatically placed on his waist. we swayed back and forth, his head in the crook of my neck, feeling his little breaths every time he exhaled from his nose. my music playlist was almost over, i had to ask him before it ends. "hey ty?" i asked, still swaying with him. he hummed in response. "can i ask you something really important?" he popped his head up from my neck and looked at my right in my eyes. "yeah, of course joshy," he confirmed. well, here goes nothing.
"tyler robert joseph, these past few weeks of getting to know you have been the best few weeks of my life. i never would have thought that some stupid app would get me this far, spending a perfect night with a perfect boy. you are the absolute light of my life, and you make me so fucking happy," i let out a deep breath. "so, tyler, will you be my boyfriend?" i asked, my nerves out of control. he nodded, the quickest i've ever seen one do. "yes! yes! oh my god! of course!" he exclaimed. i smiled at his outburst, then did something out of blue, something i wasn't planning to do tonight. i placed a gentle kiss on his lips. it caught him by surprise, but i then felt him start moving his lips against mine. everything was perfect. the music, the night, the setting. i'm so happy this went just as i planned. it was a two for one! i got tyler and a perfect night!
we pulled apart, both of us slightly out of breath. "c'mon, baby, lets go home." i grinned. his face reddened at the new nickname. i gave him one last peck as we made our way back to the car, hand in hand. tyler and i made it back to his house, out of the car, and laying down in his bed in record time. we were both currently cuddling the fuck out of each other. we were facing each other, smiling like idiots. i had my arm wrapped around his small frame and his head was placed on my chest. a perfect end to a perfect night.
oh my gOD. WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF. FUCK!!!! JOSHLER HAPPENED!!! anyways!! here is chapter ten, srry i didnt update last night, i wasn't in the mood for writing. hopefully this long chapter made up for it. stay street pals |-/
