I sat in the hospital bed with Kendrick eating my apple sauce. It was nice to be in his presence and even though he had been extremely busy with football he was here now and that was all that mattered. I was in deep thought when my phone began to ring and I looked at Kendrick and he sighed laughing getting up and getting my phone out of my bag. I looked at the caller ID seeing it was Erica's mom.

"Hello?"

"Where's my grandbabies?"

"With Javon." She sighed and I rolled my eyes.

"I never liked that boy."

"Well I don't know what to tell you Leila that's the father of your grandson."she chucked and I frowned. This lady was always up to something.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I said sitting up.

"That boy aint his Journey."

"What are you talking about he looks just like him...look ma'am with all due respect I'm in the hospital right now and you know that. Anything you have to say or whatever your trying to stir up is just added stress." She smacked her teeth making me want to hang up on her ass.

"I love my daughter Jo believe or not but she was an opportunist. I didn't like Javon because he obviously wasn't smart enough to see through Erica's lies. I want Jeremiah and Tony here with me. First it was because I'm missing out on my grandkids lives but you being in the hospital says a lot."I was shocked but I wasn't gonna feed into her bullshit. She was always a liar and I knew she was just trying to shake us up.

"No...he needs to be here the both of them you can't not give a fuck one moment and then ask for custody the next that isn't fair."

"It is fair and I don't think they're safe down there. Now you can either send them down here or I'll take it to the courts and that won't be good considering what Javon does and the fact that you just got shot up."

"Go to hell." I said hanging up and throwing my phone to the bottom of my bed.

I looked at Kendrick who was looking at me confused and I just shook my head sitting my rubbing my temple.

I was happy that I would be able to leave in a few days since I basically healed in my coma. I just wanted to relax at home with Tony and Jaylen because all of this was too much.

"Baby I gotta go handle some business you gonna be okay here by yourself?" I frowned on the verge of tears already.

I missed him so much and when I needed him the most he put me on the back burner.

"You said you'd be here with me until I left. I need you right now Kendrick." He pulled me into his arms kissing all over my face.

"I know baby but you know how it is with my job, duty calls."I nodded and pulled out of his hug staring directly infront of me.
