Chapter 18: The Resistance Base

We left Tatooine quickly after getting some rest, we had to evade whoever they decided to send after us and get as far as possible. Knowing the circumstances, Kya would be on our tail, Kylo wouldn't let her go alone and Snoke wouldn't send them without storm troopers. There was an army on our trail.

The new ship was quick, but it took us some time before we could get to D'qar. Alexia fell asleep, I didn't bother to wake her, she needed it, she was exhausted. I looked over at her, the wounds were beginning to heal and she looked calm for once. All I wanted was to get to the resistance base and have her taken care of. I stared out at the stars, not really thinking about anything at all, just staring. I was soon taken out of this when Alexia began to scream. I turned to her, she was still asleep but she thrashed around.

"Stop it! LET ME GO WHAT ARE YOU DOING WHL ARE YOU?" She yelled, I had no idea what to do, should I wake her or would that be more harmful for her but I decided in that split second I had to. I grabbed her shoulders, shaking her roughly but minding her wounds. She grabbed onto my arms, her grip tight and frantic but I finally woke her up.

"Hey, calm down, you're okay I'm here" I placed my hand on her face, but she stared at me "Kya's not here to hurt you anymore, it was just a dream" she looked at me, and I could tell by the look on her face that wasn't what she was dreaming about. "Alexia-"

"I don't know ok. I could barely see. Everything was blurry and what I could see I don't want to talk about" she stared out the glass, anger on her face and I wondered what got her to this point. We approached the planet, finally, somewhere safe.

We arrived at the resistance base sooner than expected, and I turned to look at Alexia who was now afraid to fall asleep. "Are you ready to see them again?" I asked softly, grabbing her hand "they're going to ask about everything you're going to have to tell them about her."

"I'm not telling them about Kya, they'll want her dead"

"she's not"

"Rey, stop it." She got up and out of the ship, jumping down onto the ground. The doors of the base slid open quickly and General Leia ran out as I jumped down from the ship.

"ALEXIA" she yelled, grabbing her face and examining it "oh my what happened? You need immediate attention!" She grabbed our hands and walked us in. Alexia looked around the base with curiosity while I looked for somewhere to rest, I was exhausted. Lei sat Alexia down and tended to her face, Leia took care of her well, for some reason.

"CHEWIE" Leia called, cleaning the scar on her eye "CHEWIE GOD DAMMIT GET THE BANDAGES" there was silence but you could hear the low rolling of chewie coming from a distance. I sat next to Alexia and held her hand as the wookie approached us. He made a sound of excitement, and brought his large, hairy hand down on Alexia's hair, petting her.

"Rey, what happened?" Leia asked, Alexia opened her mouth to speak but Leia shushed her. "Hush, I know you're planning to hide something from us" alexia looked down, knowing that I would confess everything.

And so I did, the capture, what happened to us, how we escaped... And Kya. Chewie and Leia froze at the mention of her name. She looked at Alexia, crouching down to get eye contact.

"Alexia... She's-"

"Alive I know, I thought she was dead..." She brought her hair up in a bun, and Leia put the medical stuff away. "Where's Han? I want to speak to him about Kya" there was a silence.... And I knew no one had the heart to tell her what happened. Leia's expression dropped, her hands begun to shake and Chewie made a sad sound as he wrapped his arm around her.

"Alexia...." I mumbled "Ben killed his father" Alexia's eyes widened, she didn't know how to process this.

"Don't you call him that." Leia snapped. "He's not Ben" she walked away, emotion in her voice, She was sad, there was no doubt about it.

I brought Alexia to her room, holding her hand as I walked her inside "get some rest, there's a lot we need to explain to you" she said nothing, she slid into her bed and turned her back to me.
