Luke and I made our way away from his hideout this morning. I protested, begging him to stay, I knew she wasn't going to come back but I hoped so. She was always a wanderer, but it angered me because I didn't know if she'd be okay.
Luke and I walked in silence for a long time. I was distraught, I couldn't feel her presence, i had no idea what she had planned, I wanted to help her and she always felt like she had to do everything herself. I stopped walking and stared up at the darkening sky. "Where are you..." I breathed, mostly to myself. But I guess Luke heard, because he turned around to look at me.
"Rey" he spoke firm and clear and walked up to me. I stared up at the stars wondering how far she was among them. "She knows what she's doing, she has a plan" I felt tears well up in my eyes but I blinked them back.
"Why does she have to get up and leave, why can't she just tell us what she plans, why can't she let us help her?" Luke opened his mouth to speak, but closed it and thought to himself for a while.
"She is stubborn, this is her mission, we have to let her do whatever it is-"
"She went to her Kya I know it" I let out a shaky breath, coming to the conclusion I feared most. I began walking again, and Luke walked next to me trying to give me words of wisdom to help me calm down. But I knew she went to her. She wasn't dead, I would feel that.
"Maybe I had told her too much at once." Luke sighed, "maybe she wasn't ready for the truth yet" Luke walked to a big pile of leaves, and took big leaves off slowly revealing a small ship. "I had to keep it far, far away. I couldn't risk being caught" I helped him clear it.
"Luke we need to go after her" I spoke, determined to bring her back, but the Jedi master just shook his head slowly. "I HAVE TO" I spoke more frantically. He rested his hands on my shoulders and it felt somewhat soothing.
"Rey, listen to me" he looked into my eyes. "Alexia is doing what she feels she needs to do. For all we know she has a plan, and us showing up could ruin whatever it is. We must be patient. We need to wait for the right moment." I sat on the floor with my head in my hands "we need to get off this planet before they send others back to look for us. Kya and Kylo Ren were on this planet." I didn't say anything to him. How could he not want to go after her? I stood up and walked into the open ship. "You think that I don't care enough to go after her?" He spoke almost reading my mind.
"I-"
"I gave her up to give her a life without pain, without suffering. She is my daughter and I care about her more than you could imagine. But she needs to figure out who she is. She is a Jedi, and she knows that" I let out a deep sigh. I didn't know how to tell him, but I was terrified that I'd never see her again.
I thought about the first time she left, she was obsessed with finding Kya. Determined to bring her back, no matter what it took. Now she finally found Kya and even though she found out that they came from different parents, that they are not blood related, Alexia still had a tie to her, still loved her like family and I knew that alone was enough to let her go after her. Maybe upon finding out that she was lied to her whole life she felt like the only person she could trust was Kya. Though she was Kylo's Queen and a knight of Ren, she had never once lied to Alexia. Though she was a venomous snake, she was an honest one, and I knew Alexia knew that.
Kya's strength worried me, and I knew now that she knew who she was. She would easily manipulate and turn Alexia against us, she was the chosen one and she'd use that to her advantage. I feared what she'd turn Alexia into if that's even where she really was, not knowing if Kya even had the decency to keep her alive. Not knowing killed me. And if Luke knew, he wasn't going to tell me. I was stuck waiting for a sign to find her, or a sign she was even alive.
I was very absent minded as we went on our journey to find a new place to hide. I need to know if she was safe, if she was alive. Luke could sense my anger, my worry, my fear and he turned to look at me. "Go get some rest, she's alive, she's okay" I took a deep breath and stood up, making my way to the back room of the ship. A little single bed was there, we'd have to take turns resting and piloting. I laid down and stared at the ceiling, I didn't rest much as hard as hard as I tried.
