Chapter 37: The Wedding Outfits

"Oh my god" I whispered shuffling the photographs again; trying to figure out if I was seeing something wrong.

"Ms. Mathur, are you alright?" Adreyan asked me and I looked up at him.

"When were these taken?" I asked him impatiently.

"They came to me today so the pictures are from yesterday," He said with concern clear in his voice with guilt.

"Do you mind if I make a call?" I asked him as my anger boils and he just nodded looking scared.

I dialed the familiar number and waited for him to pick up. I didn't have to wait for long as he picked on the fourth ring.

"You moron" I cursed before letting him say anything.

"Aru? What happened?" Abhimanyu asked.

"You are such a jerk, Abhimanyu," I said angrily.

"What did I do?" He asked innocently.

"I have the proof in front of me so don't you lie to me," I said looking at Adreyan who was intently hearing my conversation.

"What..." He was saying when he realized what I was saying. "How did you know?" He asked with confusion.

"Why? Just because I am miles away from you, that doesn't mean I can't get information" I snapped. "Why didn't you tell me? You were with her yesterday, in the same park we used to go and still you didn't care" I snapped at him again.

"I'm sorry Aru, I...it just slipped my mind," Abhimanyu said apologetically.

"It slipped your mind? Does Prithvi Uncle know?" I asked him as I felt my blood boil.

"Yes, he was here and so was her parents" Abhimanyu confessed.

"And yet you didn't take it as a responsibility to inform me about her. Your parents knew!" I exclaimed exasperatedly and Adreyan looked at me with confusion.

"I'm so sorry Aru" Abhimanyu apologized.

"Don't Aru me." I warned him. "Do my parents know? And Riya or Hridhaan?" I asked him trying to be calm.

"Yes, dad called your dad and I think your mom told Riya and Hridhaan," He told me with a sigh.

"Wow! Even my parents didn't bother to tell me about this. I was the only one you let in Abhi, how the hell am I the last person to know and that too not by you, my best friend" I said as tears threatened to fall from my eyes. "Did I push you all so much from me?" I asked him feeling hurt that my own family didn't bother to tell me. I saw Adreyan looking at me with bewilderment.

"Aru, I didn't know. I was too busy with the doctors. I personally called no one" He said and I sighed.

"Is she here? Can I talk to her?" I asked.

"Yes. Of course, give me a second" He said and I waited, holding my breath.

I looked up at Adreyan and gave him a reassuring smile and mouthed an 'I'll explain' to him, he just nodded. I heard shuffling on the other side before I heard the similar sweet voice.
