Through the portal

The bright sunlight blasted me in my face and blinded me for a few seconds. I looked back at the portal, only to find absolutely nothing there. I panicked. Why hasn't Beth came through yet? What if they sent me through the wrong portal? Suddenly, I was tackled to the ground.

"IT'S ABOUT TIME YOU CAME!!!" Ally hugged me so tightly that she was practically choking me.

"Ally! Get off of me!" I laughed even though I hugged her back just as tightly. "Where's Megan?"

Ally gave a mischievous smile. "Well, where do you think? With Jaaaay-cob." I got up and looked around. A lot of people were scattered everywhere, some wearing the same white one-pieces as us and others had one-pieces of different colors.

"They're from other places. Like Australia and Europe and all that," Ally said as she followed my gaze. Suddenly, Beth appeared out of thin air. She blinked rapidly, as the sunlight hit her eyes. Ally and I gave a single glance to each other, then both of us tackled Beth to the ground.

"What the-" Beth began, but then started laughing when she saw it was us. We got up from the ground a second time.

"Wow," Beth said. "Everything feels so different, yet it's all the same." I agreed with her. It was difficult to explain; you felt like the same person, yet you felt completely reborn. I felt like I was on top of the world. I looked around; I had a keener senses, supernatural, almost. Ally and Beth did too.

SkyFall was absolutely beautiful. We were in the forest, but not too far from the village. Trees soared thousands of miles into the sky and small patches of flowers grew here and there. The sun was brighter, but in a good way. I took a deep breath; the air was indescribably fresher, cleaner. Hopefully we don't screw this place up too. I could already imagine people polluting and destroying this beautiful place.

"Look!" Ally pointed to a small bird perched on a tree branch. It's feathers were a brilliant shade of red, orange, and yellow. It fluffed its feathers and began to sing a beautiful tune.

"I've been playing SkyFall for years, and I've never noticed how amazing the scenery really was," Beth said as she looked around, completely blown away.

"There you guys are!" Megan said as she came up to us, her eyes sparkling. "Isn't it amazing?"

"I'm not gonna lie, but I think that asteroid was the best thing that ever happened to us," Ally smiled.

"Where's Jacob?" I asked and purposely cooed his name.

"He's over there, talking to a few guys," Megan blushed.

"You guys are moving pretty fast," Beth teased. "First you guys would just stare at each other and barley talk. Then you went to SkyFall together..."

"Then you guys were holding hands," Ally continued. "Then he had his arm wrapped around you... What next?" She asked wriggling her eyebrows.

"I wouldn't be surprised if you guys already made out-"

"Shut up!" Megan laughed as her face reddened. We walked around the forest for a bit, taking in the scenery. It was getting dark and I pulled out my main menu. This is so cool. It was 9 o' clock and the sun had set.

"So where are we gonna sleep?" Ally asked.

"Well, we don't actually have to sleep every single day, but since we haven't adjusted, it's better that we did sleep. We have to look for a safe spot," Beth said.

"Is it gonna be like this everyday?" I pondered. I didn't like the idea of always being on the lookout for a place to sleep.

"Not necessarily," answered Beth. "In the village, they sell houses, but that costs a lot of coins. When we save some up, we could buy a house."
