I was surrounded by absolute warmth. I pulled the blanket around me even tighter. I haven't slept in a bed this comfortable since... since... Earth...
In a flash, I snapped out of it and sat up, making me fall and tumble off the bed in the process. I landed with a painful thud, right on my back. The pain shot out and I winced at the stinging from my burn.
I sat up from the ground and gently reached behind me to touch my wound. I imagined horrible, blackened, and twisted skin all over. It would sting painfully, but not only that. Even when it's healed it would be disgusting and permanent.
I put my fingers through the holes of my shredded up jumpsuit. To my surprise, my wound was covered by a soft cloth.
I became wary of my surroundings. The small cottage that I was in was beautiful and fairytale-like. It had a tiny stone fireplace to the right of the bed. There was a small area for the kitchen and a little wooden table. In a wash bin, there were a few cups, bowls, and spoons all made of wood as well. Hand made. It's like the dwarves' house in the movie of Snow White! Except there's only one bed and everything is normal sized...
I got up from the ground. I was stiff and sore. My throat was dry and I was unable to put any weight on my left ankle. It was bandaged too. Must be because that piece of the sky fell on it... Looking for my bag, I realized that I had left it with Beth and the others.
I limped my way to the door and pushed it open. It was early afternoon. Green grasses surrounded the place, and lilacs and sweet peas shot up from the ground. On the outer edges, small saplings had sprouted, then trees a little bit larger. Butterflies went about from flower to flower. Birds sang peacefully. It was a beautiful meadow just like in story books! The forest was nothing compared to this. In walking distance from the cottage, there was a small river. I gasped softly.
Facing the river and his back to me, stood a guy. He was shirtless. His muscles bulged out of his arms as he bent down to wash his shirt. His back was broad and muscular, and his hair was dark and medium length. Sensing my presence, he turned around. His hair was side swept and he was stunning. Suddenly I froze.
Starring back at me were moonlight-grey eyes. That same moonlight-grey eyes. Without a second glance, I bolted into the trees.
I gasped and cried out as I felt pain shoot up from my ankle. But I kept running- or more like tried running. I probably looked like a limping deer. Not very far into the forest, I had already grown breathless and tired, but still I didn't stop.
I was scared out of my mind. What if he kills me? But if he wanted to kill me, he would have done so as soon as he got a hold of me. Unless he wanted me to be awake for it... My thoughts were interrupted and I came to a screeching halt. He stood right in front of me, wearing a new shirt and blocking my path. I turned around and went back the other way. Out of thin air, he appeared right in from of me again. What the-! Could people in master levels teleport or something?
"Please, come back to the cottage with me." He said.
"Why?" I sneered as I began to regain my breath. "So that you can finish me off?"
"I'm not going to hurt you. Trust me."
"Me, trust you?" I gave a bitter laugh. "I only have one and a half lives left and I'd like to keep them, thank you very much."
A flash of annoyance crossed his face. "The attitude isn't very necessary."
Okay, I was angry now. "And you know what wasn't very necessary either? You nearly freakin' killing me yesterday!" Or how ever many days had passed, I had no idea.
