A Warm Welcome?

The relaxing aroma of the forest filled the air, but I had no time to enjoy it. A rush of nausea flooding through me. I clenched my fist and swallowed, willing it to go away. A few seconds later, I turned to face Logan. His forehead was creased with concern and his mouth was drawn into a thin line.

He took me by the shoulders and looked at me dead in the eye. "Go to your friends," he said softly. I couldn't explain it, but tears began to brim my eyes. He held me tight and I hugged him back just as tightly. I listened to his steady heartbeat, something deep inside of me telling me that it could be the last time I ever heard it.

He gently pulled away. With a kiss goodbye and a weak smile, he vanished into thin air.

Beth's POV~~

"Should I try again?" Megan muttered quietly.

"What's the freaking point?" I snapped, frustrated with our circumstances. "If she didn't appear on the map in the last billion times we checked it, what makes you think she'll be there now?!"

Obvious hurt surfaced on Megan's face. Realizing this, I felt terrible. I wanted to apologize, but she turn turned away. "I'll go refill our water skins," I said quietly, suddenly needing to escape.

I walked a somewhat lengthy distance to the nearby stream. We were preparing to go to Pobel Vean Insula. I bent down and began to fill the water skins, when I realized my hands were shaking. All this stress.

I filled all three skins. I stood up and that was when I saw her. Dawn.

Dawn's POV~~

I tracked her down all the way to a stream close by. I stood there, frozen in place in awe of being able to see Beth once more. She looked up and saw me. I smiled, tears flowing down my face like a river.

Unable to stop myself, I ran to her, crossing the stream and drenching my clothes. "Beth!" It was the only thing I managed to say.

We held each other tightly, feeling so much better with each other's presence. "W- w- where- H- how?" She coughed out as she cried.

"Oh, Beth!" I loosened my grip on her to inspect her, making sure that she was okay and didn't have any visible injuries.

"I'm okay!" She laughed. "Where were you?? How are you alive, Dawn??" Before I got a chance to answer, her faced paled and her eyes widened. "...Unless... Oh God... Am I dead? Is that why I can see you?? Because I'M DEAD?!?! Did someone shoot me with an energyball from behind?? Cuz I did not feel a thing! I-"

"Beth!" I interrupted. "You're alive. I'm alive. And please tell me Ally and Megan are too..."

"Yes! They're fine! But you! What happened!?!"

I didn't know where to begin, but I said the first thing that came to my mind, and of course, that was Logan. "I... I was with... The Creator-"

"Wait... What?"

"His name is Logan! He took me to his meadow! His castle! He healed me, Beth! Well... He was also the guy who nearly killed me... But it was a misunderstanding! He's not bad! He's so- "

"Stop." Beth muttered, hear voice eerily lacking emotion.

"W-"

"So all this time... We've been doing the impossible just to find you-- nearly dying in the process-- only to find out that you were having the time of your life with a guy?"
