Beth's POV~~~

"TO YOUR LEFT, ALLY! NO, YOUR OTHER LEFT! ASHER! SHE'S RIGHT BEHIND YOU! WHY ISN'T SHE FROZEN!?!" I screeched at the top of my lungs, watching the small battle in front of me as I was still frozen in place from the specialty move that Owen had used on me. "SOMEONE PUT CLARISSA IN A CHOKE HOLD!!! KICK OWEN HARDER! KICK HIM LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW! GUYS! THE DEADLY FLOWERS ARE COMING CLOSE! DON'T LET THEM NEAR ME WHILE I CAN'T MOVE!"

"ARE YOU ALWAYS THIS DEMANDING!?" Asher yelled back as he dodged a ball of fire. Clarissa tried fleeing the battle, but Asher yanked her back just in time. When Jacob and Asher had managed to free themselves from the cage Clarissa put them in, she obviously managed to unfreeze herself faster than Megan could keep her frozen.

I didn't answer. Sweat poured down my face as I watched the small flowers dance and skip in our direction. They giggled and twirled like ballerinas, as if there weren't a care in the world. They left a trail of sparkly powder floating behind them, the very thing that melted flesh into liquid in a matter of seconds.

To my relief, the specialty move had weakened, allowing me to move my arms if I tried with all of my strength. I formed a fireball in my hands and roasted a flower on the spot. I did this a few more times, until the ones still alive charged directly after me. But by that time, the specialty move had completely worn off, allowing me to break free.

Seeing that the flowers were in close proximity, Asher stopped fighting Owen and instead created a tornado with a whirl of his arm. My hair whipped wildly with this newly-created wind. I scrambled away from it, not wanting to be sucked into it.

As if it had a mind of its own, it sped over to the flowers, seemingly swallowing them until there was nothing left. Asher then directed the tornado to Clarissa and Owen, who ran away from the shore and further into the forest. We followed, determined to get them out of our way once and for all.

In the midst of the action, I thought I heard a strange sound in the distance. Was that an explosion? Things must be getting pretty intense with Logan and Malin... My mind snapped back into reality when I heard Clarissa's high-pitched scream. She had been sucked into the tornado, but just as I was about to cheer in triumph, she used shield to encircle herself in a protective bubble. With her new protection, she levitated out of the tornado.

Cursing under his breath, Asher allowed the tornado to die away, as it was no longer of use to him. "You'll have to try harder than that!" Clarissa sneered. Asher shook his fist in anger, and starting chasing her down, being that he was the only person amongst us who could levitate.

"Megan, Ally, go get Dawn! I can handle this idiot all by myself!" I yelled out, referring to Owen.

They ran off without a word. I popped my neck and knuckles, ready to fight with all that I had. He grinned, "You look like you're ready to kill someone."

"That's because I am!" I lunged after him, eyes widening in shock when he duplicated into five identical Owens. The one that I had picked to attack was a copy, causing me to fall through it and face plant on the ground.

"Rule number one about fighting, never be too eager to attack," they all said in unison.

"I can barley stand one Owen, let alone five. How the hell was I suppose to know that Duplicate was one of your specialty moves!?!" The Owens all formed a circle around me. I turned and looked at all of them as I spoke, not knowing which was the real one.

"Rule number two, know who you're up against."

"I know exactly, who I'm up against. A pathetic, scrawny puppet belonging to Malin, a puppet with no potential whatsoever to think for himself."
