"You have a fever."

"No I don't."

"Yes. You do."

"I said, I don't."

"Don't argue with me! I don't even need a freakin' thermometer to tell that you're hot!" I snapped, then quickly added. "In both ways."

He cracked a weak smile. "I love you, Dawn."

"Can someone hand me a barf bag? The love in the air is nauseatingly palpable."

I chuckled. "You're such a buzzkill, Beth." We all sat close together on the ground, previously staring at the ocean that only minutes ago had been storming like the end of the world. Asher made a dome-shaped shield around us incase any of the remaining monsters decided to come close. Now, we had broken the silence.

"What are we gonna do with puppet boy?" Beth asked. "Slow and painful is the best kind of torture-"

"I have a name," Owen snapped.

"Yeah, one that I don't care to remember."

"Oh, don't play dumb. You know my name and couldn't forget it even if you tried."

"Has hanging out with Clarissa rubbed off on you that much? The world doesn't revolve around you-"

"Clarissa would be far better company that you're being right now."

"Then be my guest and join her. Let's crack open the bloody ground so you can follow her to hell!"

"Guys quit it! We barley made it out of one war, don't start another one!" Megan snapped.

"Okay, first things first. Dawn, what in the world did you do to that island!?" Jacob asked.

"Woah, Dawn did that!?" Ally was surprised. "And to think that not too long ago she couldn't even shoot out a shadow ball..."

"Well," I began. "I'll ignore that last part. We all know that Malin had a giant army of even deadlier creatures that he hadn't yet released. My choice was to either go to the island, or have the entire herd of monsters sent our way. Those things were terrifying to even look at. Made out of every material imaginable. Ice, fire, steel. Lava, water, lightening. Even pumpkins and sand. If we could barley manage a few walking trees, these things would have pounded us to a pulp in a matter of minutes. So I had to do it."

I paused, then continued. "I stepped onto the island only to soon figure out that he used a binding spell on me, trapping me there for good because only he could lift it--or so everyone thought. Malin had mentioned to me once that the fairies didn't cause any problems, unless their island was threatened. So I did my research. At first, I planned on somehow breaking the spell myself, then summoning the fairies, but I ended up killing two birds with one stone.

A book that I read said that when fairies are angered, they attack and completely destroy the source of the threat, and break all enchantments while they're at it. Meaning they'd break the binding spell. It was kind of a long shot, but I went for it. I mean what other choice did I have? I made leaf sacks with magicians smoke, egg bombers, and some fairy bones and flesh that I found in Malin's tower. I launched them at Pobel Vean Insula, so the fairies would think they were being attacked. Beforehand, I had made a raft: my escape route. So as soon as the spell was broken, I made my way out of there, nearly died in the process, and ended up on the mainland shores. I went back to Dark Forest Island with Jacob and Owen, and we all know the rest."

Everyone's jaws were on the floor. "C'mon guys, I know video games were never my thing, but it shouldn't be that surprising..."

Owen shook his head chuckled. "When I caught you in Malin's tower... You had already taken the things you needed. When you were in the library... Impressive. I wouldn't have thought you had it in you."
