And so the sky fell.

"Ally, what are you doing?" I asked.

"I'm gonna ride this thing."

"That's a train, not a horse." Our hair whipped wildly as the train in front of us sped by. We were on the outer edge of the village, waiting for the train to pass.

"Yeah, but it doesn't seem that hard to run, grab onto one of those bars on the freight carts, and get on."

"I don't think that's a good idea..." Megan began.

"But why not? It seems fun," I admitted.

"And what's the worst that can happen? Get a little damage, but not a life taken away," Beth added.

All three of us began to run along the train, with Megan trailing behind us. Ally was the first to grab onto a bar. She pulled herself up, and barley managed to plant both feet on a bar with out falling off. She continued until she reached the top of the freight cart.

Now it was my turn. Adrenaline rushed through me. I reached for the bar of the freight cart right behind Ally's. My heart was pumping fast and I smiled with wild excitement.

With one hand firmly on a bar, I gave small hop and landed one foot on the bottom bar. I pulled myself up completely and began to climb. One more step left and I was on top, but suddenly my foot slipped off the bar. A rush of terror filled me, but I managed to grab onto pole on the side. I steadied myself once more, and successfully climbed to the top. Turning to look at the cart behind me, I saw Beth taking her final step, and reaching the top as well.

Megan, on the other hand, had barley managed to grab a pole, but hadn't yet hopped on. Ally held her arms out and gave a good-natured "woooooo!" I laughed as I, too, spread my arms out and let the wind blow past my face. I had a new, daring sense of adventure. No challenge seemed difficult now, not with my keener strength and senses.

I jumped the small gap between the freight carts and stood next to Ally. Beth also jumped and joined us. Finally, Megan had reached the top of the cart with a huff. She was crouched down three carts away, and began to stand unsteadily.

"Are you coming over here or what?" Ally yelled to Megan.

"It's not as easy as it seems!" Megan hollered back. We ran against the direction of the train, and with a few hops over the gaps, we made our way to Megan. She finally began to enjoy it, giving a scream of excitement and waving her arms around. Beth asked her when Jacob was going to meet up with her, and Megan said that he should come pretty soon.

Ally walked towards the edge of the cart, looking down and being careful not to fall. I faked pushing her, making her jump back laughing and playfully hit me. We both looked over the edge and turned back to look at Megan and Beth. Below us, the ground was filled with tall, wild grasses.

While a final glance at each other, Ally and I jumped of the freight cart and dived into the soft grasses. Beth, her face wild with joy, grabbed Megan's arm and also ran off the edge, before Megan had a chance of resisting.

Megan, completely surprised about what had just taken place, began to scold Beth, making us go into a fit of laughter. Once we settled down we began to look through our main menus and through the list of our moves.

Being level one beginners, we only had three moves: thunder kick, shadow ball, and fire shock.

"Now, how the heck do we use these..." I mumbled as I skimmed through the information. To use shadow ball, you put your arms out, place your hands together wrist-to-wrist, focus, and when you open your hands, it should shoot out a medium-sized ball of "dark matter"... Shadow ball releases a very little amount of dark matter onto the opponent which causes very slight damage... Blah blah blah... It regenerates in one second...
