After kindly refusing Owen's help for just about the thousandth time, I quickly finished wrapping my knuckles with gauze. Washing all the dirt and blood from my hands took longer than expected, and disinfecting my wounds was beyond painful.

I sat on the lid of the toilet seat and thought over my plan. First things first, I need to find Malin's sorcery room.

I stood up and quietly opened the restroom door. Seeing no one in close proximity, I slowly crept further into the dark hallway. I tried many doors, only to find most of them locked. The few doors that opened revealed nothing but bare bedrooms and closets.

I wearily reached the fourth floor, opening the door to a library. Love seats and a coffee table were the only pieces of furniture besides the large bookshelves. A thin layer of dust covered the books, giving away the fact that the books had not been touched in a while. I debated on whether or not to look through every book in the room, but decided that I would, being that I needed as much information as possible.

I searched six large shelves only to find nothing that would help me. Ten more to go.

On the eighth shelf, I found a rather worn out book with a faded leather cover. It was about Pobel Vean Insula and the fairies inhabiting that island. I'd better hold on to this one.

An eternity later, I finally finished searching each and every one of the book shelves. The book about Pobel Vean Insula was the only one that I felt I would need. His sorcery books are obviously in his sorcery room, but where can that b-

"You enjoy reading, I assume?" I jumped at the sudden sound of his voice.

"Malin..." I said weakly. He snatched the book from my hand and eyed me suspiciously.

"Why do you care about the fairies?"

"I- I don't. I was just bored and thought that I would learn more about them."

He eyed me once more as if deciding on whether or not to believe me, then slowly handed the book back to me. Malin pushed me out of the library and into a small office next to it.

I sat down on the edge of a cushioned chair, slightly nervous about being alone with Malin in a rather small room. He sat down a swivel chair behind a wooden desk directly in front of me.

"How are you getting along with my two assistants?" He asked. The last time I saw you, you wanted to kill me; and now you're starting up small talk?

"Owens okay. And Clarissa... Well, I've met rabid dogs nicer than her."

He chuckled. "You know, more than half of your army is gone." I swallowed. I need to find that sorcery room fast.

"What about-"

"Your friends? I'm not sure. I told Clarissa and Owen that they could do whatever they wanted with them. As for Logan, I've kept my promise. He still lives."

Malin leaned closer. "What should we do with him when this is all over?" Is that a trick question? "If you don't want me to kill him, then I guess I'll just give him a taste of his own medicine. I am going to trap him on an island -the island that is currently nameless. Except, he won't be able to leave and no one will be able to enter. Sort of like having an animal on display." He smiled wickedly.

"Then trap me with him." I held my head high.

"Sorry, Love. But not everything can go your way. I'm starting to enjoy you and your sass; I almost feel sorry for nearly killing you. Almost. And that's why I'm going to keep you."
