So as the alpha, his mate and about 12 of his other wolves lead us through their territory and we explained as we went. Katie, the alpha's mate, had become a little less territorial and nicer as we told them our story.
"And now we are here," I finished.
"Yes I see. But how do you plan on beating her, Ari I mean," Katie asked.
"I would tell you but they have mind readers. And Ari has no clue where we are headed and I would like to keep it that way," I told her. "Of course she thinks we are headed to my uncles house which we are sorta but not really. And of course there is no other way to get to my uncles house then this way so I see why she thinks it."
"Scarlett you've said enough," Cameron muttered.
"Right Cam," I muttered back.
"You know we can hear you still," Katie asked.
"Yes. I know at least. But like I said. It's not that I don't trust you its just that-" I was cut off by two sharp barks followed by a howl.
"Danger," was all Katie said before she shifted into a dark blond wolf.
Dan drew his anima-gladio, Cameron grabbed his sword from its sheath and Toby shifted. The alpha nodded and I was deciding between my bow and my anima-gladio.
"Shadowers," Dan yowled at me and I grabbed my anima-gladio.
I jumped off of Storm-Brooke and tied her to Sky-Ghost. Dan had his unicorn and Fate and did the same.
"You can't kill them with a regular blade Cameron. Stay here and protect the unicorns! If they die we can't get anywhere," I yelled over the snarls and barks and howls of pain.
I watched one wolf race back towards camp probably to get back up. Sesame stayed with Cameron only because I told her he'd need help. I then turned back to the 10 Shadowers in front of me. Dan was already jumping at one but another one came to grab him. I leaped, slicing the second Shadower's arm off.
Dan glanced at me and smiled, just like old times. I nodded slightly and turned back around. The Shadower in front of me was a ten foot tall thing that stunk of burning flesh. It lunged but I dodged easily. It was large and clumsy.
I jumped at it, blade glowing a cold, vibrant purple. The anima-gladio sunk into the Shadower's back and it yowled in pain. It was clearly blind with rage and it whipped around slamming its five arms at me. The fifth one hit me, throwing me to the ground. Damn it had been a while since I had fought one of the bigger ones.
Suddenly it yelped in pain before falling to the ground. Dan had his anima-gladio stuck in the back of its neck. He smiled before leaping off the Shadower's back and sticking his hand out. I took it and he pulled me up. Dan was grinning like an idiot and I just shook my head.
Five Shadowers still stood and one of them was headed straight for us. I darted to the left and Dan ran to the right. The Shadower stopped, confused. We both jumped at the same time from behind. It fell and let out a yell of pain, bright red blood gushed out the wound. A wave of burning garbage and flesh hit my nose as I pulled the blade out of its neck.
I cringed slightly but suddenly Dan screamed. I whirled around and saw a Shadower had picked Dan up and was about to eat him. Yes. Shadowers eat humans. I tried to leap at him but felt myself being lifted up. I turned my head to see a Shadower guiding me to its mouth. I sunk my anima-gladio into its hand and was suddenly dropped, covered with its bright red blood.
