I leaped off of Storm-Brooke, cringing slightly as my ankle hit the ground. I motioned for Sesame to stay with my gray unicorn before bursting through the doors. I ran straight to the nurse that was walking slowly down the hall.

"Excuse me miss," I breathed.

"Yes dear," she looked up from her paper.

"Dan Waylander. What room is he in," I asked.

"Doesn't ring a bell dearest. When did he check in," she began flipping through her notebook.

"He's probably the only Shadow-Hunter in this whole fucking hospital," I was trying to stay calm but failing.

"Oh yes! I remember now," I sighed in relief. "He's on the second floor, first door to your right when you exit the stairs."

With that I raced forward, following the sign that said 'stairs'. I reached the stairs and took two at a time. I burst out onto the second floor almost taking down a nurse. I threw myself through the door and sighed in relief.

"Dan," I breathed before hugging him tightly.

"Scarlett! Let go of me," his voice was muffled.

"Sorry," I said letting go of him.

"I hate to interrupt this beautiful moment but I gotta hug him too," a chuckle vibrated through the room.

"No. I refuse a hug from any male--" Dan was interrupted by Toby and Cameron tackling him.

"Be careful boys. I can tell you love him but he did just wake up," I whipped around to see Zoe standing in the doorway, a amused smirk on her face.

"Sorry," Toby muttered, clearly sarcastic.

"Watch your mouth, boy," she spat.

"I think you'd better watch your mouth," Toby growled.

"Stop both of you! Or I will personally tell Alpha Hayden and Alpha Bolt that you two can't keep from ripping each others heads off," I stated, stepping in between them. "Toby, be quite for once and Zoe. Keep yourself in check."

"You want me to keep in check," disbelief filled her voice. "I think you should--"

"Enough both of you," a booming voice growled with annoyance. "Zoe you have work to do. And yes Scarlett is correct, you need to keep in check since Toby is our guest."

"Alpha Hayden. Thank you," I smiled keenly at him.

"One more thing Zoe," alpha said.

"Yes Alpha," Zoe turned around to face him.

"Is Dan well enough to leave as soon as dinner is served," Alpha Hayden asked.

"Yes Alpha. He only had Shadower poison in him to knock him out. Of course it worked but it wore off so he shall be fine to leave after dinner," Zoe looked at her clipboard. "Am I dismissed?"

"Yes Zoe you may go. But please remember, dinner at 6," with his last words, Zoe left.

"Dinner? What do half-wolves like you eat? Raw deer," Cameron questioned.

"Cameron," I hissed but Alpha Hayden looked amused.

"No. We eat meat yes but raw meat is awful. Trust me on that one. But as wolves we do catch rabbit and eat it as wolves but otherwise raw meat is terribly horrid," Alpha Hayden smiled kindly.
