Harry's POV

" he's growing up quick" Louis said as he handed me a bottle of beer.

As we watched Kian and his little friend play in the grass, I really got to noticed how quick Kian had grown up. Soon he was already going to turn five. Five years that my life had flipped upside down.

To my surprise, he changed everything for the better for me, at least with my personality. I was truly scared as Kian continued to grow inside Lia. I didn't know what was going to happen. So I did what I always did, I began drinking too much again. To me Kian was someone who was going to ruin my life. After all, he had taken me away from Cailin.

But when Kian was born, my whole mentality changed. He made me more responsible. He made me want to be a better person. I stopped drinking as much as I did. I became a good father. I was always there for my son, through every moment. I never wanted to disappoint him.

" soon, it'll be you having one" I smirked at him.

" hopefully not in a couple years. Let's get to the wedding first" he laughed.

If you would have asked maybe even two years ago if I ever thought Louis would settle down with a girl, I would have laughed in your face. But that was all before he met Stella, an Australian model who had been living in LA at the time. For the first time, I saw Louis fall head over heels for a girl. They seemed perfect for each other. She was a nice girl too. She was a model, but wasn't a snob. Stella was a cool girl. Now here we were at their engagement party.

Louis began talking about how he was almost finished with helping produce an album with a new artist.

A lot had changed with all of us. We all took different paths. Quickly after Kian was born, All Oblivion ended. We all wanted out and to be able to focus on different things. I wanted to focus on my son. I wanted to experience everything I could with Kian.

In the beginning, after the boys and I split, we didn't have any contact with each other. It wasn't until a year later that we finally went out together. Louis and I became closer again but Zayn became even more distant. Even more now that I refused to talk to him.

Louis stopped recording for himself and started working as a producer for new artists, which he had been loving so far. He's had great success too, a Grammy to his name.

I released a solo album two years ago that did really well too. Louis had produced a couple of songs off of it. I had gotten the opportunity to perform so many places as a solo artist, including the Grammys.

" I'm gonna go see where Kian wandered off to" I said to Louis after a while of not seeing Kian around.

I walked through a couple people, same direction that Kian had gone through, only to find him on the other side of the party playing with a little blonde girl. Kian never had any problems making new friends. He was a nice kid. I was happy to see that he was turning out to be a better kid than I ever was. He was getting a better childhood.

" Harry!" I heard a women's voice shout.

I looked over to see Stella walking towards with a huge smile on her face.

" hey Stella" I smiled back.

" Kian is growing up to be so cute!" she gushed.

I looked back at Kian as he continued to play with his new friend. They seemed to be running around after some butterfly and I must say was an adorable scene.

" where's Lia?" she asked.

" didn't come" I dryly answered her.

" well I hope everything works out with you two" she shrugged with a short smile. I decided not responding at her comment was best. This was the last place I wanted to talk about that situation. Stella wasn't exactly the first person I wanted to talk about it to either.

When I turn to glance over at Kian, I see him falling over the blonde little girl.

" ow!" she shouts.

" shit" I murmur under my breath.

I run over to the kids only to see that the little girl had scraped her knee. By now Kian had already picked himself off of her. The last thing I needed was the girl crying and her mother blaming my son for anything. But when I looked at the little girl, I noticed she was putting on a brave face, refusing to crying over her bloody knee.

" does it hurt?" I asked.

" uhum" she pouted.

" have you apologized, Kian?" I asked as I looked over at him.

" I'm sorry" he shook his head at the girl.

" It's okay. I want to go to my momma" she said as she still refused to let any tears fall down from her eyes.

It was adorable to me on how tough she wanted to act in front of me or Kian. Usually kids this age cried over everything. I had taught Kian to be stronger and not cry over the little things. But you couldn't really expect that from other kids.

This little one was different. Tougher than most.

" we'll go find her. What's your name?" I asked as I helped the girl stand up on her own two feet.

" Roy" she said.

" that's a boy name" Kian shook his head.

" no it's not!" the girl shouted.

" Kian, don't be rude" I shook my head at him.

Kian quickly apologized and then looked down at his feet.

" now let's go find Roy's mom, Kian" I said as Roy took my hand in hers.

Immediately Kian did the same on my other side. I could sense a little bit of jealousy coming from him just because the little girl wanted to hold my hand. But I didn't say anything. I kept quiet and smiled to myself.

Roy started to pull me to the opposite direction of the party, only to reach all of the outside tables where a bunch of people were sitting.

" momma!" Roy shouted.

I quickly turned to the directed she yelled, only to see a pair of beautiful brown eyes staring right back at me. The brown eyes that I missed. The brown eyes that had never left my mind.

Cailin Reed.

For a moment, it was as if the world stood still. I looked at every detail of her that I had missed for so many years. Her olive-toned skin seemed lighter, as if she hadn't gotten much sun recently. She had gone a long light brown dress that seemed to make her dark brown hair stand out even more. Her hair was cut shorter but not too short. It was only a bit past her shoulders.

Roy let go of my hand and ran towards her. Cailin's gaze left mine as Roy began showing her, her scraped knees. I watched Cailin care for the little girl so carefully.

Then it suddenly hit me.

Roy was Cailin's daughter. I had met Cailin's daughter. I knew Cailin had had a baby, close around the time I had Kian. Only a couple of months apart. But that's all I knew about the girl. I didn't know who the father was. I didn't know anything.

The night I left Cailin in her apartment was the last time I had spoken to Cailin. The last time I saw her was from a distance. Her performance at the American Music Awards that same year. After that, she just disappeared off the earth. I had heard she had moved to England but I had no idea where. I knew Jess knew everything. She would go visit her sometimes. But this time around, I didn't dare ask Jess about anything. I needed to move on.

When I heard she was pregnant, I felt jealous. I was jealous of the man because he was the one to put a baby inside the woman I loved and it wasn't me. I guess I always imagined that if Cailin had ever gotten pregnant, I hoped it would be mine. But it wasn't.

Roy, the little blonde girl, wasn't mine and I had to deal with it.
