Harry's POV
It's the doorbell that takes my attention from the dance party in front of me. Kian and Roy continue to dance to the song playing on the record player as I walk over to the door. I look back at them dancing around in circles, wanting me to come back.
I open the door to see Jess holding onto her winter jacket tightly. I look down to see her luggage beside her. After giving me a kiss on the cheek she walks in holding only her duffel bag leaving her luggage behind.
I chuckle at her dramatic entrance as I lean down to drag her luggage inside. Jess throws her bags onto the floor not caring much about the sound it made.
" Did you come straight here from the airport?" I ask her.
" Yes, I've been dying to see my niece and nephew!" she says before running towards them.
As soon as they see her their eyes widen and smiles get bigger. They run towards her as well until they meet in the middle. Jess takes them in her arms, one on each side. When they finally let her go, they pull her in for the dance party.
It isn't until three songs later when Jess collapses on the couch stating defeat by the little creatures. They laugh with her. The most beautiful of laughs. Hearing it together constantly for the past week has given me a new sense of inspiration.
I walk into the kitchen to pour Jess a glass of water. I hear the music continue as I open up the fridge. I pull out a bowl of grapes and place it on the counter.
" Those kids have way too much energy. What, did you give those kids this morning? Candy?" Jess dramatically sighing.
" Here" I say placing the water in front of her.
I watch her takes big gulps of the water as the music in the background fades out.
" How was the trip?" I ask before popping a grape in my mouth.
" Are you actually asking about the trip or are you asking about Cailin?" Jess presses me.
" Maybe both" I shrug.
Jess places the glass back onto the counter and sighs. She brushes her bangs out of her face.
" She's taking it really hard" Jess says.
" Which part?" I ask.
" Every part" Jess shrugs. " She thought she had built such a strong foundation for herself before moving back to New York... and then it all fell apart."
" It's not my fault" I immediately shake my head.
" Of course not! She doesn't think so either" she assures me.
I push the bucket of grapes away, out of distraction's way wanting to hear more from Jess.
" She drank a lot when we got down in Cabo. Cailin didn't want to talk about it at first. But then after day two she just exploded in tears. She cried about feeling like a mess. She cried about losing Nathan. She cried a lot about losing you, your friendship too" Jess tells me.
I can also hear her crying right now. I can hear the pain in her voice, and she's not even here. They are cries that have stuck with me, scarred me from inside.
" She told me everything. Everything thing about the night of the rehearsal dinner, to when she came here, to Bella" Jess rolls her eyes. " To everything that you said to her at the wedding."
I look down at my hands, remembering every word I said to her.
" That was really harsh Harry" she says.
