Chapter 19

Emma woke up and looked over at her clock. It read 8:35am. She got out of bed and walked into the bathroom and starts to take off her bandages. When her bandages are off she cleans her cuts and puts the ointment on them. She wraps her arm back up and then takes her hair brush and brushes her hair. She puts it in a ponytail and then walks out of the bathroom. She walks over to her closet and grabs a loose blue top so she can cover her arms. She then grabs a pair of blue jeans and gets dressed. She then walks into the kitchen and grabs a poptart out of the cabinet. She doesn't bother to toast it, she just eats it. When she finishes she walks back into the bathroom and brushes her teeth. When she is done brushing her teeth she checks the clock and it reads 9:32am. She is surprised it took her so long to get ready but she then quickly brushes it off. She walks over to the couch and sits down.

"What am I going to do intill 3:30?" Emma asks herself.

She then gets up and grabs her keys and coat. She walks out of her apartment and down to her car. She hops in and drives to the police station. She gets to the station and parks her car. She walks into the station and sees Killian sitting at his desk. Killian looks up at Emma a little shocked.

"Hey." Killian says.

"Hi." Emma says back.

Emma starts to walk to Killian's desk. She starts to pass Graham's desk but stops. She looks down at his desk and all of the unfinished papers. She walks around the desk and sits in his seat. She moves some of the papers around and starts tearing up when she sees Graham's signature. She missed him so much. She shuffles through more of the papers and finds a tiny box. She looks at it confused and picks it up. It was wrapped in a red bow. Red was Emma's favorite color. She unwraps the bow and opens the box. She sees a beautiful necklace. She also sees a note on the top of the box on the inside. She starts to read it.

Emma, I love you so much! I'm glad to call you mine. I hope you like the necklace. Happy Birthday!

Graham

Emma bursted into tears. Her birthday was only 4 days away and this is what Graham was going to give her. She took the necklace from the box and put it around her neck. She then took the box and stuffed it in her coat pocket. She stood up from Graham's desk with tears pouring down her face. She walked over to her desk instead of Killian's and sat down. She sat there for a few minutes holding on to the necklace and crying. She then got onto her computer and started with some papers on her desk.

She looked up at the clock and it read 2:51pm. She looked over at Killian and he was working on papers as well. Emma worked on a few more papers then got up from her desk when the clock said 3:15. She started walking out of the station when Killian's voice stopped her.

"Where are you going?" Killian asked.

"Oh,umm...I'm just going to go home." Emma said.

"Emma." Killian said knowing that she was lying.

"Bye." Emma said as she walked out of the station.

She knew that Killian knew she was doing something. She didn't want to tell Killian what she was really doing. She, for some reason, would feel embarrassed if anyone found out she had 'off the charts' depression. She got in her car and drove to Dr. Hopper's office.
