Chapter 26

Emma walked into Dr. Hoppers office right at 3:30. Dr. Hopper looked up at from his desk full of papers and saw Emma.

"Hello, Emma." Dr. Hopper said. Emma walked in and sat in a chair. Dr. Hopper stood up from his desk and sat down in a chair beside Emma. "So, Emma did anything happen?"

"Well, I talked to Killian." Emma said quietly.

"Good, good, how did it go?"

"Good." Emma said.

"That's really good Emma." Dr. Hopper said excited.

Emma smiled and fiddled with her thumbs. She then realized she had big news and told Dr. Hopper.

"I get my bandages off completely tomorrow!"

"That is awesome, Emma! You've only been here 3 days and your already improving so much!"

Emma smiled again and started messing with her necklace. She then realized that her birthday was tomorrow. She was shocked she forgot.

"It's also my birthday tomorrow."

"Nice. Anything planned?"

"No not really. I just remembered." Emma said laughing.

Dr. Hopper laughed with her and then started looking at her necklace.

"That's a beautiful necklace you have there, Emma."

"Thanks." Emma said looking down at it.

"Where did you get it?"

"Oh, ummm..." Emma hesitated but then quickly got over it and started again. "Well, I guess it was my birthday present from Graham. I went into the station and sat at his desk. I started looking through his papers and saw a box. I opened it and this necklace was in there. There was also a little note." Emma realized she had her red leather jacket on and fiddled through her pockets. She finally found the box and opened it. She read it out loud to Dr. Hopper. "Emma I love you so much. I'm glad to call you mine. I hope you like the necklace. Happy Birthday! Graham."

Emma finished reading the note in the box and then gave it to Dr. Hopper. She felt tears running down her face as she gave him the box. She wiped her tears away then Dr. Hopper gave the box back.

"Thats so sweet, Emma." Dr. Hopper said smiling. Emma put the box back in her pocket and the looked up at the clock. The clock read 5:06pm. She was surprised the meeting went so fast. "Ok Emma, you don't have to come in tomorrow because it's Sunday. Also, when you come in Monday I want to hear the you told your friends about your depression. The people that you love are the people that will help you the most." Emma nodded. "Ok Emma, I'll see you Monday."

Emma walked out of his office smiling. Dr. Hopper made her happy. She liked going to see him and letting everything out. She got into her bug and started driving back home.

When she got home she parked her car and walked up to her level in the apartment building. She opened her door and didn't see Killian anywhere. She looked around her apartment confused.

"Killian?!" Emma called out.

She saw his car in the parking lot. She looked around more and still couldn't find him. She decided to call him. Right when she began to call him she heard a ring in the kitchen. She ran into the kitchen and saw Killian's phone on the counter ringing. Emma ended the call and let out a sigh of annoyance. She looked around the counter and saw a note. She grabbed it and read it.

Gone to the beach. Just needed to relax. Be back soon.

Emma set the note back down on the counter and walked out of her apartment. She started to walk to the beach.
