Annie's POV
I was eating lunch in the cafeteria with Johanna when Haymitch came running in.
H: *shouts* They're back!!!
Me and Johanna jumped out of our chairs and darted to where the hovercraft was. Once we reached there, I was really tired, I was 5 months pregnant and I was getting tired easily. I watched as Cressida, Pollux, and Peeta came out. I started to get worried, where was Finnick? I saw Katniss come out and I ran to her. The first thing that her eyes went to was my noticeable bump.
K: Annie!
A: Ya!
We shared a hug and once we separated, I got on topic.
A: Where's Finnick?
Katniss' face went from happy to sad. I worried even more, he couldn't be.....dead. My eyes flew onto the hovercraft as two men came out, pushing a stretcher out of the hovercraft. As soon as I saw that bronze hair, I ran to it. I finally got to the stretcher and looked at the picture in front of me. Finnick in torn up, dirty clothes with gashes all over his legs. There were bruises and cuts all over the rest of his body, including his face. He was asleep.
A: *cries* Finnick.
Man: Ma'am, please move, we need to get this man into surgery right away.
The men got past me and I started to panic as he left my vision. I walked to Katniss, who still had a sad look on her face.
A: Katniss *sniffles* what happened?!
K: We were in the sewers of the Capitol's train station and a bunch of sharp clawed mutts came at us. They killed some of our people. Finnick protected me, he saved my life. Once he was able to escape, he got pulled down by the mutts, that's why he has all of those gashes on his legs. Gale sacrificed himself to save Finnick. Gale's dead.
By the time she ended her explanation, she was in tears. I pulled her into a hug and cried with her.
A: I'm so sorry about Gale, he was an amazing man.
After Katniss left, Johanna came over to me.
J: They'll get him patched up and pretty again, don't you worry, red.
