A slamming.
"OPEN UP!"
A yelling.
I ignore.
Cut.... Drip... Cut.... More drips.
Relief... Flooding over my skin.
A thin smile crosses my lips.
"NATHAN! Please..."
The voice is crying now, pleading.
I ignore, and make the last cut.
"I-I, need to say something..."
'No, ignore him.' My mind tells me. 'Shush, if you keep silent, he will go away. Shush. Keep cutting. Make it all go away.'
So I do.
"Nathan... Please... Say it again, what you said to me... A year ago... Please..."
I cannot.
I make the last cut.
I can't breathe.
I CAN'T BREATHE.
Silence...
