"Amberlee, you are dismissed for today. We aren't getting much traffic today." My "boss" said. By boss I mean person that pays for my use.
I am a waitress at the bar in town, but property of Watto. My brother, Anakin, worked at Watto's shop because he was good with his hands but I was more of a pretty face to the slavers.
"Thank you." I said bowing my head then leaving quickly before he changed his mind. He was a large gross creature that disgusted me, he was usually polite for his kind though...made sure nobody tried to take advantage of me while I was working and let me keep tips.
I went to Watto's shop to see if Anakin was done but I assume he wasn't going to be. I always had to watch my back walking through town considering my "uniform" can be slightly revealing.
"Anakin! When do you get to go home?" I said to my brother walking into Watto's shop. He was standing there with a young girl and a creature I had never seen before. He looked like a gungan, I heard someone describing them in the bar once.
"I'm not sure, Amberlee. Padme, this is my sister Amberlee." Anakin said introducing me to the young girl. She seemed to be about 4 years younger than me.
"Hello." We both said to each other. I stood watching the clumsy gungan make a droid come to life. The droid kept jumping around and I started chuckling. I walker over and helped him but hitting the nose on the droid making it close up.
"Meesa thankin yousa for helpin Meesa" he said. I laughed.
"You're welcome." I replied. He was a little over 6 feet tall, a good 6 inches above me. Another man came out from the back room, about the same height with very long hair and a robe that looked like a Jedi would wear.
"Let's go." He said to his companions and Anakin said goodbye to Padme. He obviously thought she was pretty.
*anything in italics is another language*
"Clean off the shelves and you can go home early, boy." Watto said in huttese to Anakin. He cheered and went to go finish his chores."Amberlee, can I help you?" Watto's said to me.
"I wanted to strike a bargain with you. If I give you 100 credits will you free Anakin?" I asked. I knew he wouldn't want to pass up credits. And 100 credits for a young slave is a good amount.
"Hmmmm......how will I find someone as good as him to fix my stuff?" He asked.
I groaned since I already had the money. I had been saving up credits from everything since I was young, finding money on the ground and waitressing within the past years......it's truly amazing that I can do this for my brother.
"You can purchase a new slave with your money." I said. He thought about it for a moment then held out his hand for me to shake. I could free my brother.
I just had to figure out how to get him to the Jedi council, I had heard of force sensitive people and were sure we were two of them but he was stronger than me. I could tell.
"Let's go home, Amb." Anakin said coming over using his nickname for me. When he was a baby he couldn't say my full name so Amb stuck.
"Yes, let's." I said.
"What was that about?" Anakin asked.
"Nothing that you need to be worried about." I said putting my hand on his shoulder. We were walking as Anakin stopped and pointed to the gungan. He was about to get into a fight with Sebulba when Anakin rushed over and saved him. I rolled my eyes and walked after him just as the gungans companions found him again.
