My eyes fluttered open to see light streaming through the glass window where the curtain hadn't been pulled over. I turned around to face the other direction to fall back to sleep and found Hayden wasn't by my side. I was too tired to be bothered about it and tried falling back asleep. It wasn't working the light seemed to pour itself through the room making it impossible for me to close my eyes.
I leant back around and while doing I pushed my knuckles down in the mattress and collapsed back down in pain "Ow," I moaned. I looked down at my hands and found scars scattered from one side the other. Some were quite deep others were just little scars, some had started bleeding. I groaned and jumped out of bed and headed to the bathroom. I rinsed them under the tap and muttered "Stupid scars," I then heard knocking on the door. "Yeah hold on," but they knocked harder than before "Yeah I said hold on........urgh impatient people nowadays."
I dried my hands in the towel and headed back into the room. I noticed there was this little note on the floor in an envelope. I slowly made my way towards it thinking what it could be. I hesitated deciding whether I should pick it up or not. Thinking what if it's the same as before or what if it's something completely different. I decided not to touch it leave it there and flopped back onto my bed.
It was there in the corner of my eye, just staring at me, telling me to go pick it up and read. I was hesitating again. I finally gave in and picked the thing up. I ripped it apart as if it was a present I just got for my birthday or Christmas. I suddenly heard faint laughter outside the door. I couldn't make it out if it was a girl or boy since it was so quiet but I still heard it. At this point I decided to slow down opening the envelope considering maybe I shouldn't have picked it up in the first place and just chucked it in the bin.
I took the piece of paper slowly from the envelope and turned it over.
Dear Ally,
Here I am again, surprised to hear from me, probably.....probably not I don't care I'm rather enjoying this. Nice stunt you pulled on your sister what happened to family loyalties and always sticking together guess that flew out the window.....
But you were always good at keeping the family together weren't you.....shame whatever happened there. Who cares I loved watching every moment but now I get to watch something even more great......Looks like you've lost your sister's trust
Oh wait maybe you already did when you stood foot on those school grounds.....well goodbye Ally for now
Soon blood may be shed and hopefully next time it's yours.........
I heard footsteps by the doors begin to run away and the laughter fade while doing so. I raced to the door and pulled it open and ran out the door. I looked to the left at full speed then quickly turned fast to the right and crashed into Hayden. Tears were flowing from my eyes as he held onto my shoulders as I faced him.
"Ally what's wrong?" he asked worry to his voice. I chucked the letter at his face as I ran back into the dorm and buried my head into my pillow and went under the covers. "What's wrong?" I heard another voice say and it sounded like Kerri. I then felt the covers get pulled over my head to reveal the sun beaming back onto me. Warm arms wrapped themselves around me and cradled me in close. Hayden.
He coursed his fingers through my hair as he ran down my back. "It's okay Ally, what I am saying it's not okay, but it will be I promise you, we will find who did this don't you worry, no ones gonna hurt you I won't let them." He kept trying to sooth me until I was calm again.
