Jack

I was overjoyed at the fact that my sister was okay, she was alive, we were back together and there was nothing standing in our way, we've graduated and now starting a new chapter in our lives. I was waiting for her outside of the apartment she and Hayden were staying in together as we had one more loose end to tie up. The door finally opened and there they both were standing smiling. Finally something happy to be gazing upon.

Alana leant up and kissed him while he leant down and they made their way towards the car, I let the window down as she got in the car and Hayden leant on the edge. "You guys sure you wanna do this?" he asked uncertain. Me and Alana looked at each other and nodded. "We have to, they would want us to," she replied. Hayden nodded and moved back away from the car "Alright see you guys later."

We both nodded and I started to pull the car off the curb and start to drive away, we waved goodbye to Hayden and started driving to our destination. "Thanks Jack, for letting us do this," she finally spoke up from the music jamming in the car. "Like you said, they would want us to go and besides, I think we both need to," we both smiled and I finally parked the car outside the cemetery.

As we got out we slowly made our way through the gates, that's when I realised she wasn't by my side. I turned back and saw her looking through the gate, admiring all the graves carved into the ground. I walked over to her and held her hand, "It's okay, you can do this, I know you can and besides, you've faced much worse than any of us have," she laughed and nodded, so we sauntered our way over to our parent's grave.

We stood in front of it and Alana placed down the roses next to their names, "We did it...we finished what you started, no more experiment, everyone's safe," I could hear the crack in her voice. "I'm sorry, I couldn't be here for your funeral, I wanted to, I didn't even get to say goodbye, we miss you." In the end she let her tears fall and I held her close into me.

"We're sorry we couldn't save you guys," I finished, that's when I felt a tear fall down my cheek as well.

"It wasn't your fault sweethearts," both our heads jerked upwards and we looked at each other confused "We are so proud of both of you," both our heads looked down at the grave, nothing, we both looked back at each other but slowly turned to the side.

Right in front of us....

"Mom...." Alana whispered.

"Dad..." I whispered.
