The bright sunlight cast shadows all over the room as I woke up, blocking the light by rolling over to face Clary.

She lay next to me fast asleep, bed covers pulled up close to her chin, quiet snores escaping her parted lips.

I smiled down at her, arm wrapped securely around her small waist as I pulled her into me, nuzzling my face against the warm skin on her pale neck.

She stirred slightly as I pressed a soft kiss against the exposed skin, smiling in her sleep as she turned to face me.

"Morning.." She mumbled quietly, eyes remaining shut whilst a smile was visible on her face.

"How're you feeling?" I questioned, tracing slow patterns against the side of her waist with my hand.

"I'm fine, just waiting for the sickness to kick in again." She chuckled sarcastically, resting her head comfortably against my chest.

"Just think of what'll come out of all of this in the end, Clary." I smiled whilst speaking, brushing my free hand through her wavy locks.

"Do you think it'll be a boy or a girl?" She questioned curiously, finally fluttering her eyes open as she stared up at me.

"I think it's going to be a boy." I spoke truthfully, picturing the situation in my mind whilst Clary lay comfortably in my arms.

"Me too." She nodded in agreement, smiling as the words left her mouth.

"I have to go sort some stuff with Alec at the clave later on, Izzy will stay with you incase-" I began to speak, but Clary cut me off.

"Jace, I'm pregnant, I'm not fighting a war you know." She chuckled, making me smile at her words.

"I know, but it just gives me all the more reason to be protective, over both of you." I stated, watching as Clary smiled.

"How long will you be gone for?" She questioned, eyebrow raised as she rested against me comfortably.

"I'm hoping we'll finish by tonight, but if not, it'll be first thing tomorrow morning." I spoke.

I never liked leaving Clary alone for long, it wasn't the fact that I underestimated her, heck no. It was just simply the worry I felt, after everything we'd been through together, it came to me easily.

Worrying about her was my number one priority, and it always has been. But now, I'd be adding another little one onto that list.

"Will Magnus be opening up the portal for you guys?" Clary questioned, gently throwing back the covers as she sat up.

"He'll probably be round soon enough, you know, chance to see Alec and all." I chuckled, running a hand through my messy hair as I got out of bed.

"Yeah, I'm going to get dressed." Clary smiled, grabbing some clothes out of the wardrobe, heading into our shared bathroom shortly after.

I pulled on some gear followed by my leather jacket, bending down once I was done in order to lace my boots up whilst I sat on the edge of our bed.

"Clary? Are you alright in there?" I questioned after about fifteen minutes, seeing as she hadn't come out of the bathroom yet.

"Yeah, give me a minute, I just feel a bit queasy, that's all." I heard her speak, making my way over towards the door.

"Clary, open up." I spoke softly, knocking on the close door.

The door clicked open soon enough, and behind it stood Clary, small smile on her face whilst she leant against the counter.

"You alright?" I questioned, taking in her slightly pale appearance, caressing her cheek as I stared at her with concerned eyes.

"I'm fine, it's just a bit of morning sickness, that's all." She chuckled quietly.

"Do you want to head downstairs?" I questioned, watching as Clary nodded slowly, taking my hand in her own as we left the room.

Loud voices could be heard a mile away as we headed downstairs, but Izzy's was the loudest by far.

"What on earth is going on in here?" I chuckled, entering the kitchen with Clary by my side.

"Izzy made breakfast." Alec sighed, causing both me and Clary to scrunch our faces up, coughing to cover it up as soon as Isabelle glared at us.

"Alec, I gave you food poisoning one time, are you ever going to let it go?" Isabelle stated, crossing her arms whilst she stared at her brother.

"It was twice, actually." Alec corrected, earning a scoff off of his younger sister whilst everyone chuckled at the pair.

"You ready to get going Jace?" Alec questioned, glancing sideways at Magnus before asking.

"Uh yeah, sure." I nodded, pulling Clary into my arms before we left, placing a soft kiss against her forehead.

"I'll see you soon, don't do anything stupid whilst I'm gone." I spoke, earning a chuckle off of Clary.

"Really, Jace? What could I possibly do around here?" She questioned, making me shake my head whilst I smiled down at her.

"Don't eat any of Izzy's food, surely that stuff won't be good for the baby." Alec smirked whilst he walked over, pulling Clary into a quick hug whilst she chuckled at his words.

"I heard that!" Isabelle shouted, glaring at her brother whilst he struggled to contain his laughter.

I finally let go of Clary, smiling back at her as I began following Alec and Magnus out of the room.

"I'll see you either tonight, or tomorrow morning." Alec spoke up, hugging Magnus as we stopped outside.

"Of course, Alexander." Magnus smiled, caressing his boyfriends pale cheeks.

"Guys? I'm still here you know?" I stated, eyebrow raised as I crossed my arms over my chest, staring at the pair.

"Jace, honey, who's the one here that got a girl pregnant?" Magnus questioned, whilst Alec stifled a laugh.

"She's my wife, I have- wait, why am I even having this conversation with my best friend and his glittery boyfriend?" I spoke, cutting myself off mid sentence.

"I'll take that as a compliment." Magnus chuckled, letting go of Alec as I shook my head at his words.

Alec came to join me as we watched Magnus open up the portal, eyes fixed on the shimmering pool of colours.

"Ready?" Alec questioned, glancing at me whilst he adverted his attention away from the portal.

"Ready." I confirmed, stepping through the portal straight after Alec, letting it swallow me up completely within seconds.
