"Out like a light, I'll be back in a sec." Jace spoke quietly, standing up whilst he held Clary's body in his arms, heading out of the room and up the stairs.

"You know she's going to go mental when she wakes up, right?" Simon questioned, glancing towards me.

"She'll still be under the influence of the chemicals when she awakes, should give us about ten minutes to explain before she freaks out." I stated.

"And what explanation have we even got to offer her?" Isabelle questioned, gaze adverting towards the door as Jace reentered.

"Are you all that clueless about pregnancy? For the love of the demon realms, allow me to inform you clueless specimens, then. I remind you that there's a living being growing inside of her, and-" I began, but Alec cut me off.

"Yes, we know. Stop trying to use your magical warlock words to disguise everyday vocabulary that we understand, Magnus." He chuckled lowly, making me glare at him playfully.

"Alexander, darling, don't correct the man with the knowledge." I stated, placing a hand on Alec's shoulder whilst he rolled his eyes.

"Can we get to the point, please?" Jace spoke up, arms crossed over his chest whilst he paced.

"We can't allow her to worry or stress over these sort of things whilst she still carries the baby, it will only cause problems that will affect the baby's growth and wellbeing." I stated.

"Magnus, that's basically inevitable. You know what Clary's like, we all do. She puts everyone's safety before her own, and this is our child we're talking about, in grave danger." Jace spoke up, whilst Isabelle nodded in agreement.

"Jace is right, there's no stopping her from worrying about this whole situations, not until we find a way to defeat it." Simon spoke.

"We could've reasoned with her whilst she was still conscious, you know. Tell her to calm down like normal people do?" Alec questioned, staring at me with a glint of sarcasm in his eyes.

"Okay, so maybe it wasn't the best move to make, but hey, at least the poor girl is resting for a while." I defended.

"How're we going to figure this out? We have no lead as to who this person could possibly be, as a matter of fact, how did whoever this is know that Clary was even pregnant?" Simon questioned confusedly.

"Wait, he's right. How could these people have known?" Isabelle questioned, staring at me with confused eyes.

"I don't know, Isabelle. There has to be some sort of source that is passing on information." I sighed.

"But how? Surely we would have noticed if someone was spying on us all this time, or whatever you want to call it." Jace spoke up.

"I'm afraid this person may be more powerful than we imagined. If they have information, from where I don't know, there has to be more than one in on it. Someone couldn't possibly do all of this single handedly.." I trailed off.

"Do you think they know what they're doing, Magnus? Do you think they..you know..have a plan to take the baby?" Alec questioned unsurely, earning a glare off of Jace.

"Well, most likely yes, a-" I began to speak, but Jace cut me off before I was even halfway through my sentence.

"Don't. Don't even say it. I won't let them get that far as to lay a single hand on my child, not a chance." He stated.

"How are we supposed to figure out who this is? We need to at least get an idea of the strength of our enemy." Isabelle spoke up.

"Indeed we do, we just need time." I stated, shaking my head as I spoke.

"Time? Magnus, the more time we waste, the more time this person has to plan, and the birth of the child will only get closer and closer. We need to act quickly, time is precious." Simon sighed.

"Simon's right. The longer we wait, the longer we stand by and do nothing, we're at a disadvantage in that case. We need to figure out who this is, set a trap  that they'll walk straight into or something, I'm not sure yet." Alec spoke, eyebrows furrowed in concentration.

"But how? How can we set a trap, and be sure that they'll take the bate?" Isabelle questioned.

"That's the problem. We can't be 100% sure that it'll work, but we need to try something, we can't let this matter get any worse." I sighed, racking my brain for some sort of plan that would reel in our enemy.

"Wait, I have an idea." Simon suddenly spoke up, gaining all of our attention.

"Today, when the demon took over her mind, it couldn't have just been a coincidence that the demon just so happened to have been there whilst I was out with Clary." Simon began.

"What are you trying to say, Simon?" Jace questioned in confusion.

"I mean, the demon must have sensed the power that the baby is developing, and that must be the reason for its sudden appearance." Simon explained.

"He's right..there must be a way that they have been sensing the baby's power, that has to be how they found out in the first place, how the demon suddenly appeared this morning, how-" Alec began, but I cut him off.

"They can track every move she makes." I finished off, sighing as I spoke.

"Can you cloak the baby, Magnus? Isn't there a way you can hide the presence of the power, so that whoever this is can no longer sense it?" Isabelle questioned.

"I can try, but I doubt I'll be able to cloak such a powerful thing. I can sense the power down here, and I'm not even in the same room as Clary." I explained.

"We have to try, at least cloak the power whilst we try and figure out a way to find out who this is." Jace stated.

"Of course I'll try, cloaking the baby means they will no longer have proof that it exists, so they'll have no choice but to believe that the baby is dead." I spoke up.

"But it won't harm the child, right?" Alec questioned unsurely.

"No, of course not. The spell will simply hide the radiation of its power." I explained, earning various nods.

"How much longer should she be out for, Magnus?" Jace questioned.

"Not much longer at all, in fact, she should be waking up soon, I expect." I said, staring over at Jace.

"I'll go up and check on her." Jace spoke, making his way out of the room and towards the stairs once again.

"She's going to kill you when she wakes up." Simon chuckled, shaking his head lightly whilst Isabelle nodded.

"Oh well, nothing I can't handle." I smirked, earning yet another eye roll off of Alec.
