I S A B E L L E

I held onto the tiny baby in my arms with the tightest yet most comfortable grip with which I'd ever held anything in my life, rocking her restless frame.

"Get her out of here, now." Jace ordered, pulling a seraph blade out of his belt the second he let go of Clary's unmoving yet stable frame, urging me to follow along with Magnus.

"Magnus we can't possibly-" I began to speak, hurriedly following him out of the room as the battle broke out in te infirmary, but he was quick to cut my sentence short.

"Just follow me, keep hold of the baby tight and just trust me." Magnus stated, making his way down the hall whilst he pushed the bed on which Clary laid as fast as he could.

"Of course." I mumbled out in agreement, holding my tiny niece over my shoulder, her sobs rising up once again as I tried to calm her down.

"She needs physical contact with Clary or Jace, he hasn't even held his newborn daughter yet and here I am-" I began to ramble on as I followed Magnus, but he spoke up, cutting me off for the second time.

"You can't worry about that right now Iz, both Clary and Jace would trust you with their daughters life, which quite frankly, is what's happening right now." He stated.

"Thanks, that made me feel so much better." I scoffed sarcastically, continuing the path down the long hall at a fast pace, coming to an abrupt stop at the door at the end of the hall.

"What are we supposed to do now?" I piped up rather quietly, not wanting to disturb the newborn that'd only just managed to drift off to sleep.

"I'm going to put a glamour on both Clary and the baby, keep them hidden and seal the door with binding spells until all of this is over." Magnus explained, swinging the door open that didn't lead to just any room in the institute, it was the nursery that we'd all spent months on.

"But Magnus what if-" I began to question worriedly, not at all sure about his idea of a problematic game of hide and seek.

"Trust me on this one Iz. Sebastian is going to be too concentrated on slicing Jace's head off in order to come searching for Clary and the baby. I'll enchant the door a thousand times if I have to, but he is not getting in." Magnus stated, sounding far too calm compared to my own panicked tone.

"Alright, Clary's still unconscious so I'm not risking the baby's life by settling her down with her mother. Set the baby down carefully in the cot, make sure she falls asleep right after." Magnus instructed, carefully wheeling Clary's bed over to position it next to the tiny cot that stood in the corner of the beautifully decorated room.

"Shhh it's okay baby, you're gonna be just fine." I soothed, carefully setting the tiny bundle down, making sure the blankets were wrapped securely around her little body.

"She's not going to settle alone Magnus, she's-" I began to speak whilst shaking my head disapprovingly, but Magnus cut me off with a knowing smile spreading across his face.

I watched with curious eyes as he carefully lifted up Clary's left hand, gently pushing the cot closer to Clary's bed so that the pair were touching, her hand being placed carefully inside the low cot.

The baby quieted down almost immediately, tiny delicate fingers wrapping around Clary's bigger one, seeking out the comfort.

I could do nothing but smile as I watched the newborn settle the second she came into contact with her mother, eyes drooping shut whilst Magnus mirrored my grin.

"Right, let's get the glamour on and bind up these doors." Magnus stated as we both made our way back towards the door, pulling it shut tight as quietly as we could manage to before getting to work on the spells.

"Give her to me." Sebastian snarled, eyes dark with rage as he raised his blade high up above both our heads, slamming down hard against my own illuminated blade.

"Never." I spat, spinning around as I dodged away from Sebastian's blade for a second time, eyes darting around the crowded room.

Demons covered most of it, their ichor damp against the walls as well as the floor, sliced off limbs splattered across the room in various spots.

Alec stood tall with his crossbow, eyes fixed on each and every enemy that surrounded us, arrows flying in every different direction as he hit his aim perfectly every single time.

Simon had both hands wrapped tightly around a demons neck, snapping it with a swift twist of his arms, eyes rapidly settling on his next prey.

Magnus and Isabelle were nowhere to be seen, which relieved me and worried me at the same time, the fear of not knowing exactly where they were or how they were getting on or even what they were planning on doing with Clary and my little girl scaring me half to death.

"You aren't going to win this time, and you know you aren't." I shouted over the intense yet various sounds that filled the room, each and every sound bouncing off of the walls in loud ecos.

"How dare you say that, Herondale." Sebastian spat angrily, snarl clear on his face as he advanced forward once again.

I took my eyes off of him for a split second in order to see how Simon and Alec were doing in our current situation, but it was enough for Sebastian to take advantage of my distraction.

He plunged the blade into my upper thigh, causing me to gasp out in pain as I felt the cold, smooth metal blade slice straight through my gear, causing me to fall to my knees as it cut right through my skin.

"Still think I'm gonna lose, do you?" Sebastian smirked, watching with a satisfied grin as I hissed in pain, painfully gripping ahold of my thigh.

Seeing as I was in no fit state to reply to his mocking tone, he simply chuckled before carrying on.

"Any last words, my dear, dear brother in law?" Sebastian grinned widely, aimlessly twirling the blade around in both of his stone cold hands.

"Yeah, go to hell." An arrow plunged through the dead centre of Sebastian's chest, flying through the air out of nowhere before dark blood began to pour down his shirt, eyes widening in pure and utter shock.

He fell to the floor with a loud crash, eyes closing the second his head hit the floor harshly, blood pooling around his even paler than usual body.

And right behind him stood Alec, bow raised high in perfect position right above his shoulder blades, a small grin tugging at his lips.
