C L A R Y

A sigh of relief escaped my lips the second I saw Jace and Alec burst through the huge double doors, but my body felt numb.

The liquid that was currently being pumped into my veins through a small tube attached to a drip did nothing but make me feel drowsy.

My body was begging me to close my eyes, fall asleep for a little while and rest, but the fear was enough to keep myself up and alert.

I continued to struggle against the leather cuffs that kept me pressed against the metal table with no escape, as well as the multiple pairs of hands that pushed and shoved me further down.

I watched as Magnus, Isabelle and Simon burst through a different door only minutes after, and the chuckle that escaped my lips was simply the pure joy that I felt at seeing them appear.

But whatever relief or sense of joy that'd passed through me when I saw them enter was wiped away within a matter of seconds, and it was replaced by a cold, blood curdling fear as I laid eyes on the sudden outburst of commotion.

All it had taken was a simple, short whistle off of Sebastian, and as soon as he'd done so, no one had time to even take a breath before demons began to pour through every possible entrance that made up the palace that Sebastian called his own.

"No!" I screamed out, thrashing hard against my restrains, watching with a look of pure horror as demons swarmed around the people I loved with every fibre in my body.

Tears continued to spill from my eyes, but they definitely weren't stopping me from thrashing and screaming, and the surely weren't making my pleads and cries any quieter, if not louder.

"Get her out of here, I'll be there as soon as I can." Sebastian stated angrily, signalling for the guards and whoever else crowded around me to oblige to his orders.

"Where exactly are we taking her, master?" A sudden male voice spoke up, one hand placed firmly against the side of my right arm, whilst the other gripped the metal table.

"I don't care, just get her out of here and away from the commotion, my private chamber will do just fine." Sebastian barked out his order, earning silent nods off of his servants, followers, allies, whatever they were to him, I didn't know.

"Sebastian please don't do this." I pleaded, sobbing whilst I watched him spare me a single glance, and honestly, for a single second, I could've sworn I saw a single glint of regret.

"Hurry up, we haven't got time for this." He shouted, ignoring me whilst he turned around, striding back towards the middle of the room which had turned into a murder hall.

"You can't do this!" I screamed out, teary eyes desperately searching the crowd for a familiar face, but the only thing I got was a tiny glimpse of a glitter covered arm sleeve, and I knew that he was buried far to deep within the battle to have heard me.

The more liquid that traveled down from the plastic drip, through the clear tube and into my arm, the more unconscious I became of my surroundings.

"W-what is that stuff? What are you doing to me?" I questioned, panic rising in my voice as I breathed heavily, struggling against the bindings that held me down.

"Nothing that you need to worry about, besides, you won't be conscious for much longer anyway." A fair folk shrugged as if it were supposed to calm me, keeping a firm grip on the side of the metal table whilst she eyed the drip with cautious eyes.

I tried rubbing my arm against my bonded sides to somehow loosen the tube so that it'd slow everything down, but my actions were cut short too soon.

"Don't even think about it, the drip stays in place." A guard warned, hand flying down to grip my arm as we continued to make our way down the hall, grip increasing with every passing second.

I could hear the commotion slip away as I was wheeled further down whatever number corridor this one was, the battle cries dying down the further we got.

They finally came to a stop shortly after, pushing two huge double black metal doors open that I'd never seen before.

I tried to get a look as we entered, but the bodies crowding around the table as well as the fact that I could barely lift my head made it quite impossible for me to do as I wished.

"Are we supposed to just wait until he arrives or begin?" A hushed voice spoke, gaining my full attention.

"You heard him, we bring her down here, and we wait; simple as that." Another voice spoke up slightly louder, making my head spin due to the various voices that soon enough began speaking over one another.

I felt oddly calm as my eyes became droopy, and I knew for a clear fact that it had everything to do with the tube that was currently feeding me some sort of drug, but I couldn't find the strength to struggle nor fight.

"She's almost out, lets just wait outside the doors until further orders." The same voice that had spoken before stated, leaning over me to readjust the drip before making his way towards the grand doors, closely followed by whoever else had accompanied me to whatever room I was currently in.

It was my one opportunity to try and get myself out of this, but I had lost all control over my body the second that the doors had slammed shut.

I tried moving my arm, my leg, a single finger, but it was completely useless. Liquid continued to drip down through the tube, and my eyes were closing faster with every passing second.

I continued trying to regain movement, even the slightest, but nothing seemed to work. Tears slipped as I continued to struggle, my whole body burning on the inside whilst showing no trace of movement on the outside, and the effort was killing me.

My eyes felt heavier than they'd ever felt before, and it only became harder to keep them open as time passed.

It got to a point where my eyelids felt as heavy as he weight of the world, and I simply couldn't keep them open without the simple action becoming too painful to bare.

I felt like giving up, and deep down, I knew that there was absolutely nothing that I could do that would help get myself the hell out of here, and it only made my heart ache.

I lay there still, eyes closed whilst the sound of echoing voices from outside flowed through my ears, but all of the commotion was soon enough cut off, as if a knife had sliced through the power of sound.

All I wanted to do was stand up, open my eyes, and fight back, but I had no control, I was simply useless.

It got to the point where the only thing that could be heard was the drip of the liquid that was passing through the tube, and it continued for at least ten minutes before the silence was cut off by the sound of the huge doors being thrown open.

I expected no other than Sebastian and his minions, I could literally picture them walking into the room, but clearly I was wrong.

The sound of footsteps grew closer, and soon enough the sound of some sort of weapon falling to the floor broke the silence.

"Clary." A voice breathed out. It took my drowsy state of mind a while to place it, but as soon as I realised that the voice belonged to no other than Alec, I felt like crying tears of pure joy.

"Can you hear me? Try and squeeze my hand, give me some kind of sign." He spoke, making me want nothing more than to get up and hug the life out of him, but I knew I wasn't capable of doing such a thing, seeing as my body wouldn't respond.

"It's alright, I'm going to get you out, everything's gonna be fine, including you." He spoke, footsteps coming closer and closer.

I felt the drip being yanked out of my arm as well as a pair of hands helping me up, pulling me into their embrace.

I was lifted off of the cold metal table soon enough, strength and feeling slowly returning to my body whilst Alec carried me out of the room.

"It's over, everything's going to be alright." He soothed, but I still couldn't respond. So I simply laid there, waiting for my full feeling of strength to return, hoping for the drowsiness to fade away.
