Oh my god I'm so excited for you to read this one..

"The warlock that is supposedly going to perform the ritual can't just be anyone, in order to perform such a powerful spell with such strong summonings of dark magic, he's going to need someone with indescribable powers." Magnus stated, pacing back and forth whilst both me and Julian watched.

"It's our fault that he managed to get the book in the first place, we-" Julian began to protest, but I was quick to cut him off.

"No, it's not. You had no control over the book, it's been hidden away for centuries, he shouldn't even have known where to find it." I spoke up, turning my head as I watched a yawning Emma walk through the doorway.

"Morning guys." She spoke sleepily, making her way over towards the spot where Julian stood, leaning against his taller frame whilst he kissed her forehead.

"Morning, sleep okay?" I questioned, earning a nod in return off of Emma before Magnus proceeded to talk once again.

"No one is to blame, all we can focus on is trying to get it back, or at least find a way to stop the ritual, there has to be something we can do." He spoke, earning nods in agreement off of the rest of us.

"Isn't there some sort of protection spell you can put on the baby? You know, to prevent the ritual from causing any type of damage?" Emma questioned, whilst both me and Julian turned to Magnus with hopeful eyes.

"Even if I could, my magic wouldn't stand a chance against this dark source." Magnus sighed, gaze drifting towards the door just as Clary walked through.

"Wow, you okay Clary?" Julian piped up, causing me to glance at him in confusion before staring over at Clary.

My eyes widened slightly in realisation as I laid eyes on her, noticing that her skin was at least three shades paler than usual, and the purple bags under her eyes were incredibly dark.

"Yeah..why?" She questioned unsurely, making her way towards us whilst she stared at Julian in confusion, hand placed securely on her stomach.

"You don't look..good." Emma trailed off nervously, earning yet another confused glance off of Clary.

"Huh?" She questioned once again, staring around at all four of us, waiting for at least one of us to speak up and answer.

"You look really pale." Magnus spoke up, striding over towards Clary before lifting a hand up to her forehead.

"You're boiling." He stated with the slightest amount of panic in his voice, clearly trying to disguise it so that Clary wouldn't worry too much.

"But I feel fine." She stated, shaking her head before slowly making her way towards the bathroom.

I followed after her seeing as Jace still hadn't come down, standing behind her as I watched her eyes widen the second she looked in the mirror.

"I don't understand, I feel completely okay." Clary muttered, running her hands over her face.

"Maybe it's just a fever?" I questioned unsurely, not knowing exactly what to say myself, seeing as I was just as clueless as everyone else.

I watched with worried eyes as Clary bent over with a harsh jerk, eyes screwing shut whilst I rushed forward to place my hands on her back to try and steady her.
