E M M A"Julian, did you hear that?" I sat upright in bed with a jolt, staring around the dark room confusedly whilst I shook Julian's sleeping frame.
"What are you talking about?" He questioned groggily, rubbing at his eyes tiredly before sitting up, a soft yawn escaping his parted lips.
"That." I jumped ever so slightly as the banging increased, and seconds later, the harsh sound of shattering glass split the dead of night silence.
"The kids." Julian was quick to react, throwing the bed covers off as he got up, dashing out of the room in search of his younger siblings. They certainly weren't kids anymore, but Julian still used the term whenever he could.
I was out of bed within seconds, grabbing Cortana off of the bedside table, gripping onto her firmly whilst I silently ran down the corridor after Julian.
"Stay in here, watch over each other whilst me and Emma go see what's going on. Promise me you won't leave this room." Julian had all of the kids standing with curious looks in the twins room, ordering them to stay put.
"No, Jules, we want to help and fight with you-" Livia had began to speak, but I stepped in, cutting her off with a gentle voice.
"You guys staying here is helping us out, as long as we can guarantee your safety, we'll be fine." I spoke, placing a firm hand on her shoulder.
"If you need backup, please come back and let us help properly." Dru begged, causing a sudden idea to pop into my head.
"That's it..Ty, here's my phone, I want you to go through my contacts and find Clary's number, alert them of the situation, can you do that?" Emma questioned, earning a firm nod off of the teen as she pressed the phone into his palm.
Another loud crash echoed through the hall soon enough, causing Livia to let out a short scream due to the sudden volume, whilst she gripped onto her twins hand, interlacing their fingers.
"We'll be back, call them and whatever you do, don't come out." Julian warned, pulling each sibling into a quick hug before he followed Emma out of the room, both of them ascending down the stairs with weapons clutched tightly in their hands.
"My my, haven't you pair changed since the last time I saw you. What were you, eleven? Twelve?" The taunting voice stopped Emma dead in her tracks, causing her to take a sharp intake of breath as she came to recognise exactly who it was.
"What are you doing here?" Julian questioned angrily, stepping in front of Emma whilst he shielded her body with his own, heart beating rapidly as he stared down the huge staircase where Sebastian stood.
"If you may, I'd like to talk to the girl." Sebastian stated, smirk clear on his face in the dim light room.
Usually I would never back down or hide away from any type of fight, let alone let Julian protect me like this. But as soon as I'd set eyes on the pale, dark eyed shadowhunter that'd once tried to end the nephilim race, my blood ran cold my her heart felt as if it'd stopped beating.
I'd never been so relieved about hiding the kids upstairs as I was right now.
"What do you want from me?" I spoke up, placing a reassuring hand on Julian's shoulder whilst I stepped aside, coming into full view for Sebastian to see.
