"This can't be happening." Alec stated, shaking his head over and over again after processing Julian's words.

"By the angel.." Isabelle trailed off, hand flying up to her mouth as a look of realisation settled across her face.

"Iz? What's wrong?" I breathed out heavily, trying to control my breathing as the pain only increased with every passing second.

"I don't think the baby's ready to be born." She stated, causing me to stare at her confusedly, because quite frankly, I'd been saying that for the past half an hour.

"Thanks for stating the obvious Iz, we-" Jace began to speak, but she cut him off quickly, shaking her head in the process.

"I don't mean it like that. What I mean is that I don't think this birth is coming naturally, I think it's being forced." She explained, only making me more confused and annoyed as I screamed out, another wave of pain hitting me.

"She's right." Magnus stated with an affirmative nod, placing his hand against my stomach whilst I stared at the pair questioningly.

"Will one of you please tell me what the hell is going on?" I chocked out, throwing my head back against the pillow as the never ending agony spread throughout my body.

"It's the ritual. He's started it, he's provoking that baby out of you with some sort of dark binding spell, he's making the whole thing happen." Magnus explained, and in that exact second, my whole world fell apart.

"No..no please no." I cried desperately, partly because of how angry and frustrated I was, and partly because of the god awful pain.

"All we need to do is keep him from getting up here. No matter what happens, make sure he doesn't set foot up here. Am I clear?" Jace questioned, making a move to follow Julian and Alec out of the door.

"Jace no, don't leave me. You can't do that." I panicked, reaching out for his hand as my tears continued to fall.

"Shh I'm not going anywhere, I was just going to tell Julian where the rest of the spare weapons are kept." Jace stated, brushing a hair out of my face whilst I nodded shakily in return.

"It's alright, everything's going to be fine." Isabelle soothed, grabbing ahold of my hand in Jace's absence.

"I..I c-can't breathe." I chocked out after a couple of minutes, attempting to latch onto the air that my lungs so desperately needed.

"Magnus! She can't breath!" Simon shouted, causing Magnus to rush back over as he left Alec's side quickly.

"Clary honey I know you said you wanted a natural birth, but you need to listen to me. There is nothing natural about any of this, for starters the baby is literally being forced out of you. If you don't take something for the pain, you won't make it." Magnus stated clearly, holding the gas tube up to my face whilst I quickly pushed it away in return.

"Clary you can't breathe." Isabelle shouted at me, voice cracking due to the tears that were now welling up in her eyes.

The pain had become agonising, and the fact that I could barely breath only made it harder, so after a few short seconds I snatched the tube off of Magnus, inhaling through the mouthpiece deeply whilst all three of them sighed in relief.

"I'm sorry, I can't think straight and everything is just-" I began to speak, relief flooding through me as I was finally able to breath again.

"Don't apologise, don't even think about saying sorry. Right now all we need to focus on is getting that baby out safely." Simon stated, earning a shaky nod off of myself in return.

"Somebody get Jace, please." I heaved, reaching over for another intake of breath from the tube that I was currently clutching in my left hand.

"Jace!" Isabelle called out, firm grip never leaving my hand as I watched Jace breakaway from Alec and Julian who stood near the entryway.

"It's alright, Alec is going to go help keep them from getting in." Jace stated, rushing over as he returned to his original spot by my side.

"Please tell him to be careful." I cried, gripping ahold of Jace's hand once again whilst I scanned the room for Alec's tall figure.

"Don't worry your pretty little head about me, I'll be fine. You've got other things to worry about at the moment." Alec spoke up, striding back towards us whilst I sighed in relief.

"Next time I see you, you'll be an uncle." I stated, grinning through the tears whilst Alec chuckled.

"And you'll be one hell of an exhausted mother. Good luck, I'll see you on the other side." Alec chuckled, whispering in my ear as he bent down to hug me before running after Julian.

"I can feel her, I can really feel her." I mumbled, hissing in pain as a harsh kick came into contact with my ribcage.

"Alright Clary, on the count of three, I'm gonna need you to start pushing." Magnus ordered, causing me to nod shakily whilst Izzy interfered.

"Magnus do you even know how to deliver a baby?" She questioned worriedly, holding onto my other hand with a reassuring grip.

"One or two in the past, it's a walk in the park." Magnus shrugged in return.

"A walk in the park? Easy for you to say when you're not the one that actually has to get the baby out!" I shouted in frustration, voice growing louder and louder as the pain increased.

"We really do need to get this baby out." Magnus mumbled, causing me to glare at him before another wave of pain hit me.

"Jace I'm scared." I cried, my grip on his hand increasing as I felt the same wave of pain approaching once again.

"Everything's going to be just fine, I know you can do this." Jace encouraged, leaning down to press his lips against my sweaty forehead for a split second.

"Alright Clary, as soon as the next wave hits you, push as hard as you can." Magnus ordered, but just as I was about to nod in return, I experienced a sudden pain that I never wished to experience ever again.

I screamed out louder than I ever had before as the feeling spread, my insides seeming to feel as if they were on fire as tears streamed down my cheeks.

"Something cracked. Magnus, something definitely just broke in there."  Simon gulped as I continued to cry out, sobs ripping my throat raw.

"Something's wrong." Magnus mumbled out in concentration as he checked over me worriedly.

"No, you don't say? Of course there's something wrong, everything about this is wrong!" Jace shouted, causing the pain in my head to increase as my vision went blurry.

"Get her out, you need to get her out of me now." I cried out, managing to get the words out before letting my head fall back against the pillow, tears clouding my vision as my insides became completely numb.
