"They're gonna be just fine, they've only gone to check the perimeter for any type of demonic activity." Isabelle stated, a soothing hand pressed against my shoulder whilst I gulped nervously.
"I know, but with everything that's happened lately with Sebastian and-" I began to speak, but Isabelle cut me off, grabbing ahold of both of my shoulders so that I'd focus every last bit of my attention on her wide eyes.
"Stop worrying. Jace and Alec have done this for years, by the angel Jace knew how to hold a sword before he could hold a baby rattle." Isabelle exaggerated, causing me to chuckle lightly at her words.
"And besides, stressing out isn't good for you or the baby." Magnus interrupted, gaining both of our attention as he entered the room, carrying a glass of what appeared to be red wine.
"You girls want some?" Magnus questioned once he stood beside us both, offering up the glass of wine.
"Stressing isn't good for the baby, but alcohol isn't either, incase you've forgotten." I chuckled, shaking my head before gently pushing the glass away.
"Suit yourselves." He shrugged as soon as Isabelle decided to decline the offer as well, taking a quick sip before taking a seat on the dark coloured sofa.
"Where's Simon?" I questioned suddenly, realising that he hadn't been around since both Jace and Alec had headed out.
"I might have sent him shopping." Isabelle spoke up, her statement sounding more like a question.
"Only you, Isabelle Lightwood, only you." Magnus chuckled, crossing his knee over and on top of the other whilst he shook his head.
"What? We needed food, and Simon offered to go!" She defended, causing both myself and Magnus to laugh before I too decided to sit down in order to get comfortable.
But the second I made a move to step towards the sofa where Magnus currently sat sipping on his wine, I felt the slightest, most tiniest press against the side of my stomach.
"No way.." I trailed off quietly, stopping dead in my tracks whilst I stared down at my forever growing stomach, placing my hands securely on each side.
"Clary? What's wrong?" Isabelle questioned suspiciously, noticing that I stood in the centre of the room with what they thought was a worried or scared look plastered across my face.
"It's the baby..she-" I began to mumble, but Magnus cut me off, jumping up from his position as he set his wine glass down, quickly making his way towards me.
"Oh my demon realms the baby's coming, Iz I need you to get me-" Magnus began to panic, barking out orders whilst he slipped an arm around my back, making me chuckle at his outburst.
"Clary, darling, this really isn't a time to be laughing." Magnus scolded, trying to make me sit down whilst I shook my head, which only caused them both to stare at me confusedly.
"Magnus, I'm not going into labour." I chuckled, earning a sigh of relief off of Magnus which soon turned back to a confused glance, as did Isabelle's.
"Then what's wrong?" Isabelle questioned, raising a curious eyebrow whilst I grinned widely.
"She kicked." I smiled, feeling a slightly stronger press against my left palm, causing my smile to spread.
"You're kidding." Isabelle stated quietly, eyes focused on my bump.
"Here, give me your hand." I stated, taking Isabelle's hand in my own as soon as she outstretched it, carefully replacing my palm with hers on the side of my stomach.
She flinched away in surprise the second she felt the kick, hands flying up to her mouth in shock.
"By the angel" Isabelle gasped, smiling widely whilst she stared down at the bump in amazement.
"Let me have a feel of the little one." Magnus stated eagerly, making me smile before I repeated the process the exact same way I'd done with Isabelle, earning a shocked intake of breath off of Magnus.
"Well I never.." Magnus mumbled in surprise, hand never leaving his spot on my bump whilst Isabelle presses her palm on the other side once again, smiling as she felt the continuous kicks.
"I think someone knows her daddy's gone." Isabelle cooed, hand never leaving its spot whilst I smiled widely at the pair.
"I'm back! Iz I got everything you asked for except the- Holy shit what on earth is going on in here?" Simon's voice echoes through the halls seconds later followed by the slam of the door, and he cut himself off with a confused yet curious look the second he entered the room with his arms full of shopping supplies.
"Baby Herondale decided to make a statement." I shrugged, causing Simon's eyes to widen as he dropped the bags on the nearby table, quickly making his way over towards us.
"Move over warlock." Simon huffed in annoyance as I grabbed ahold of his hand, indicating for Magnus to move away in order to show Simon.
"Don't get bitchy with me daylighter, you know I'm better at comebacks." Magnus warned playfully.
"Oh dearest warlock of Brooklyn, do you mind stepping aside, oh my king I beg?" Simon played along dramatically, causing both me and Isabelle to burst out laughing at his pathetic impersonation of some sort of highly royal voice.
"That's more like it." Magnus sighed in delight, heading back over to grab his glass of wine whilst Simon chuckled, shaking his head before pressing his hand against my stomach.
"Holy crap she's actually in there." Simon gasped, eyes widening as he felt the unfamiliar press against the palm of his hand.
"Of course she's in there you idiot, where'd you think the bump came from? Calories?" Magnus scoffed whilst the rest of us chuckled, earning an eye roll off of Simon.
"I don't mean it like that, it's just so..it's incredible." He breathed out, causing me to grin at my best friend.
"I bet it's because she can sense that Jace isn't around." Isabelle guessed once again, making me nod in agreement before suddenly, another voice spoke up.
"You bet what's because I'm not around?" Jace spoke up suddenly, entering the room side by side with Alec, both looking as confused and intrigued as ever.
"Come see for yourself daddy." Magnus stated as he took a sip of wine, eyes widening as he spat out the wine once he realised what he'd said.
"I did not mean that in any sort of sexual way." Magnus defended, making us all chuckle loudly at the wide eyed warlock.
"I know Magnus, don't stress. So what is it I'm seeing?" Jace questioned, making his way towards me whilst Isabelle moved away, smiling as she leaned against Simon.
I took ahold of Jace's hand and pressed it against my stomach, causing his eyes to widen as he gasped, whilst I focused all of my attention on his reaction.
"She..that's..it's.." Jace stuttered, random words leaving his mouth as he tried to form a sentence, making me chuckle before deciding to help him out.
"That's our daughter." I smiled, gently caressing Jace's cheek whilst he grinned widely.
"Alec you gotta come feel this." Jace spoke up, eagerly urging his parabatai to come forward.
"I'm sure it was her uncle she missed, right baby?" Alec cooed as he pressed his hand against my bump, causing everyone else to chuckle.
"She really is making a statement, it makes everything seem way more real now." Jace stated, causing me to smile whilst I continued to feel the kicks that brought tears of joy to my eyes.
