S I M O N

Panicking was always something I'd been particularly good at, but when it came to Clary or Isabelle, I completely lost my mind.

I was out of my house as soon as the phone line went dead, hurrying over to the institute as quickly as I could.

I reached the glamour-covered building soon enough, running up the stairs and towards the door.

I banged loudly on the double doors, but I got no answer in return.

Breaking down the door would never work, this was an institute at the end of the day. I was used to sneaking up through Isabelle's window on occasions, so I simply climbed and took that root.

I pushed the window open and jumped in, heading straight towards Clary and Jace's room. It seemed to be empty, so I headed downstairs.

I checked the bathroom, the training room, yet there was so sign of my best friend. Checking the front room and the kitchen, I finally spotted the unmissable vibrant red hair.

I rushed over to her, kneeling down next to her pale body despite the shattered glass. I was a daylighter, I'd heal in no time.

"Clary? Clary, can you hear me?" I questioned worriedly, pulling her body onto my lap.

I leaned forward in order to try and feel her pulse, but as soon as my fingers came in contact with her pale skin, I pulled back in surprise, eyes widening.

"What the.." I trailed off in confusion, regaining my posture as I repeated my actions, reaching forward to feel her pulse.

The same thing happened again, and then realisation finally hit me. I could feel Clary's pulse easily, but that wasn't the problem. I could feel two pulses instead of one.

I gently lifted her black jumper up, tracing my hands across her stomach, and right there, the second pulse was stronger than any other.

"You've got to be kidding me.." I trailed off, my hand remaining placed firmly on the side of her stomach.

I kept her body cradled close to my chest as I pulled my phone out with steady hands, dialling Magnus' number.

"Why hello, daylighter, what can I do for you?" The voice questioned, making me roll my eyes.

"Magnus, we've been friends for years, quit calling me daylighter." I sighed, earning a chuckle off of the warlock.

"Friends? I'm so touched by your kind words, Simon." He chuckled.

"Any other time, I'd be up for a joke, but right now, I really need your help." I sighed, staring down at the unconscious corps of my best friend.

"You sound worried, darling. What in the demon realms is wrong?" He questioned, whilst I rolled my eyes at his choice of words.

"Magnus, you know I love your sense of humour, but right now is really not the time." I sighed in frustration.

"I understand. You sound stressed, what has happened?" He spoke, voice sounding completely serious, making me relax the slightest.

"Magnus, it's Clary." I stated.

"Oh dear, what is it?" He questioned, voice sounding as concerned as ever.
