night with the museum

Sitting in front of my computer....again. Bad when you start to recognize patterns of dust spots on your screen:( Trying to get excited about museum date. But no matter how I try to psych myself, all my hackles are rising and my fingers turn into claws when they get too near the keyboard..

You know, I have poured SO MUCH TIME AND EFFORT into researching Derek's hobbies and passions, and totally catered to his every preference for this date. I spent hours picking through museums and researching chicly historic restaurants to put together the perfect comfort atmosphere for Derek.

But will he be in the least grateful for all my hours of preparation and care???

I will be happy if I walk away from this date with only an ungracious insinuation that I am a less talented scam artist.

Got to focus on Heather. Poor Heather...OMG I can't help it, I get a sense of doom about tonight. Even though it is a clear, balmy night in Balto, with a full moon shining over the waters of the bay that lap against the quaint brick harborside--a romantic setting that could mellow Scrooge into believing he was falling in love--I somehow know something is going to go wrong and that (sigh) it will somehow be found to be the fault of YOURS TRULY..

Because I did not want to turn this night into BATTLEDATE--which it certainly WOULD HAVE BECOME if I was anywhere near the premises, I have once again STAYED HOME for this date. My publicity strategy is the same I used for Lila and Ted's at the dog show (and of course, Derek's equally doomed first date with Tiffany, but let's not mention that) which is to call on social media--twitter, Facebook, youtube, what have you--to get the public in the vicinity to send in footage.

Only now, with so much new publicity for our site, I am projecting we will get substantially more material than for either Ted and Lila or Derek and Tiffany! I have posted the location and time of the dates so people who follow our site and are in the area can send in shots/footage to us. I'll monitor and post some of these as the date progresses. Also, I have been texting Heather back and forth as she is apprehensive.

I have kicked back and opened the #life mailbox in one window, just praying that I don't end up sending a dart through my screen with all the Derek footage about to come my way.

6:03pm....ok, date is officially on the clock at. Somewhere behind the fort-like stone facade of Maryland's Museum of Military History, Heather and Derek are crossing paths for the first time.

So, while we wait, BUSINESS. Love how the music date ideas are flying thick and fast, WANT the swing dance date to happen--let's put that on the calendar.

Small confession: as you may have noticed looking at our site I put our pet compatibility page on the back burner this week and instead went for "hobby" theme pix...I figured, with passion flowers and "hotness" being our theme this week pets were too....well....comfortable. So I went with some appropriate 90's dance/80's hard beats and staggered photos and clips of our matches in full shine mode doing what they do best...we have Paige with some pretty thrilling roller derby moments--do you see how those other smaller players just seem to fly around like bowling pins when she powers through???--and some awesome swing dancing moments. That girl can move! We have Simone addressing a huge crowd from a platform, pounding her fist and looking looking totally inspirational, some of Zackary's more exuberant breakdancing, some of Yesenia's plethora of club scene selfies, we have Toby jumping into the swamp on top of the alligator (not one of his more thought through adventures) that clip of Kate in hulk mode you turned me onto, twirling her trainer overhead--even Noah backlit by stagelights, gyrating and brushing hands with screaming hordes of his tweenie girl fans.
